What's going on doggies welcome back to another video and welcome to a 14-day survival challenge also known as a 14-day quarantine but let me tell you right now this is way more of a survival challenge all right so you may be asking yourself field day what do you mean a 14 day quarantine.
What do you mean you're doing a survival challenge all right so we've just come from indonesia we've flown into australia pretty much what the rules are at the moment it's mandatory for every single person who flies into in into australia from any country to a 14-day survival challenge like i like.
To call it or everyone else calls it a quarantine so pretty much what you do we landed in australia we get shipped like like cattle into these rooms and we're stuck in this little room for 14 days cannot open the windows can't choose the food we eat it's um.
It's interesting i'll get back to this a little bit later but first let me show you a little prison cell and we'll um we'll get on with it all right all right i shouldn't say prison cell because this little place where we have to do this survival challenge quarantine call it what you will it's.
Actually pretty bloody good we're actually really happy with what we got so not only am i going to show you like our experience in here i'm going to give you guys a couple of tips a couple of hints if you guys want to come if you guys have to come and do quarantine whether it be australia.
Or anywhere else in the world i'll teach you guys what i'll tell you guys a couple of things that have helped me and my girlfriend gets through we're right now we're on day 13 so we have one day left of quarantine and we are out of here i couldn't be any more frothed to breathe a little bit of fresh air.
And this room right here this is our main bedroom so we are lucky enough to have a big butzer window we've got epic views of the river we can fully look over the city this hotel here is also full of people doing quarantine and so is that little hotel there that hotel is also full of people doing.
Quarantine now right now i'm filming on a gopro and i can't zoom in but if i had the ability to zoom in it's actually really funny watching all of these people in these windows what they do this guy here works out like five times a day this guy just stares out of his.
Window all day it's actually really funny to watch what all these people do i often just stand here and wave at them but not once in 13 days as anyone waved back anyway this is our killer bedroom nice tv there we walk down here.
This is our bathroom shower toilet pretty simple pretty pimpin i've actually been fishing in there i will take you guys fishing very very bloody soon see as soon as i start talking to you guys i get bloody excited and it starts starts getting bloody hot.
All right so the first things first if you guys are going to do a quarantine like we are doing right now it is it actually is a little bit of a mission right it's like a full-on mental game 14 days when i came into this i was like easy dude me and my chick thought would just power through this but 14 days two.
Weeks stuck in a room without fresh air you can't open the windows you don't have the choice of ordering what you want to eat you can order ubereats and all that kind of stuff but it gets a little bit pricey and to be honest we're not really we're not too fussy about eating food but.
After two weeks of doing it does get pretty bloody i don't know what is it what's the word babe it gets pretty bloody i don't know my brain doesn't work i've been in here for too long i was listening no she's not even listening anyway anyway um what we were told and what we did and what worked super good for us.
Is we have obviously the window in our bedroom this big window here and then we got this big window here so this view is literally like a life-saving view and we were told when you're filling out your declaration form to come into quarantine that you should say that you're a smoker.
And you're like claustrophobic so we both said that we are like highly claustrophobic we'll die in a room so that's i think that's why we got this pimping view these big windows because if you guys can see down here all of these poor buggers in this room have one window obviously that's one little square.
Window and that's all they get to see and that guy is obviously looking at our at facing our building so i'm pretty sure because we said we're claustrophobic we may have got this good view or we may have just got lucky i'm not sure but this.
Is something that helps like you wouldn't believe looking out of the window the one thing that has kept us sane in this room is this bike so you can actually rent these bikes from just any rental company around the city that you're in and this thing has literally like just saved our lives.
I ride this maybe once or twice a day for an hour each time close my eyes and to pretend i'm just driving down the coast or we've got a mad view to look at so it's pretty bloody good to either get one of these bikes or one of my mates dropped off these weights for me.
So he dropped off five kilo and 10 kilo weights so that's something that sort of just keeps you sane because you literally can't do too much in these rooms all right now this is my favorite quarantine hack of all time what you do you open this cupboard i wore this robe for one day and i didn't.
Enjoy it but this is what we're gonna use this is your everyday iron so at this point you're probably thinking yourself what are you doing with an iron you don't look like somebody who irons their clothes and i'm not somebody who irons their clothes we're actually not using this to iron.
Our clothes you don't have a toaster you don't have any way of heating up food in these rooms you don't have any way of cooking at all in these rooms so what we figured out is that this gets extremely bloody hot so my mum is an absolute legend she come and did a little bit of delivery the other day.
She brought us bread and all these different things so what we've been doing each morning to make a little bit of toast you get your iron get it really bloody hot slap your bread on top and believe it or not within a minute or two it actually turns into toasted brown.
Beautiful bread so this is definitely the 101 hack and yes we clean it after we use it don't worry but it is actually it's actually surprising how well this thing toasts bread full on teflon look all right.
All right so this thing here is pretty much a big suitcase for fishing rods it's a super hard shell on the outside and it keeps all my rods extremely safe so this is some of the rods that i used over in indonesia and i'm going to give you a little bit of a run through of the fishing rods i used.
The reels i used because these are some massive questions that were coming through so let's get stuck into some of these questions what these reels are and what they're used for this reel that reel a couple more reels in here i'll dig them out and we'll do a little bit of a gear run through.
Alright so up there with some of the most highly requested questions are what is the noodle rod what is the noodle rod reel and what is the jigging setup that i was using in bali obviously probably the last four months of videos i was just flat out jigging jigging in the deep water like 300 250 meters of water.
It just become such an epic way of fishing for me i usually go popping for gts and that kind of stuff indonesia but the jigging just sort of like just grabbed my soul and i just fell in love with the jigging side of fishing so the reel that i was using is a shimano oshio.
It's a 3000 hg now this reel is it's a good reel it's around about seven eight hundred dollar reel so it's quite an expensive reel but you pay for what you get for a lot of the people in indonesia use a brand called jigging master and i had a look at those reels and.
This just felt it just feels good in my hand i feel i like the way it feels it holds 400 meters of pe 4 line i'm 600 meters of pe 4 line which is a lot of line it's a beautiful smooth reel and the best thing about it is that you can control.
The spool speed when you're dropping it by this lever here so there's no more winding knobs you don't have to wind this knob to get your tension it's just a very easy lever up and down like that which makes it such a nice reel to use and um look i can't i cannot fault this reel it's been an absolute beast.
And then the rod that i put that on is this thing now this thing is an absolute weapon it's a jigging master gangster style it's actually what it's called gangster style but it is a beautiful rod it's rated p1 pe1 to pe 3 rod it's a slow pitch maximum 300 gram but i was dropping down.
700 gram jigs in around 300 meters of water on this thing and it absolutely didn't even feel like it was under pressure fishing a 700 gram jig so that's another i think this is about an 800 700 rod but like i said you pay for what you get for it is a beautiful rod the way that it.
Feels and it's also it's also got spiral guides so this guides obviously spiral as you come up here so it's a beautiful rod very very happy with that what is the noodle rod okay i actually don't have the noodle rod here it's i snapped it like five days before we.
Came to australia which is absolutely heartbreaking but i did end up giving i snapped about that much off the tip so all of my fishing gear that i don't use i donated to people in indonesia i gave fishing lures to little kids i gave my noodle rod and another rod to some guy who doesn't really have a lot and he was.
Absolutely over the moon even though the noodle rod the tip was snapped off he was still frothing so i've just ordered another noodle rod now for you guys look the noodle rod can be anything as long as as long as it's one to f but one to four pound like super super light the lightest rod you can buy that's what.
The noodle rod is it doesn't have to be a pacific brand as long as you're having fun that's what it is but the rod that i'm using is a storm discovery um an ultra light spin model so that's what the noodle rod is i've just called it the noodle rod because when you get a fish it literally bends.
Like a noodle and it's so much fun and then i've paired the noodle rod up with this this is just a little daiwa reel it's a daiwa revos 2000 so this is again this is actually quite a cheap reel this costs like 50 and in the scheme of things the 50 reel in the long run.
Is actually a really cheap reel but this got put through its paces in indonesia and it is just it's still working so good like the bearings are still good the drag still works it got a flogging in indonesia for a year and a half and it's still a good little reel so.
You don't have to spend massive money on a reel to get something that works good obviously i can't show you the noodle rod right now because it's not here but um let's get on to the next question all right and we are also celebrating two massive epic things the first thing that we're going to be celebrating is.
Well getting out of this little dungeon of a room but the second thing that we're going to be celebrating is we've just hit 600 000 subscribers on the youtube channel which is absolutely epic and um what i want to do to show my love and support back to you guys we are dropping absolutely everything on the online shop.
Back down to 30 off so it's 30 off everything on the online shop that includes these hoodies hats shirts we've got new shirts coming big things in the future but for now as you guys watch this video there is 30 off right now at fieldayshop.com so graze on over there become part of the family.
Grab yourself a hoodie these things are flying out of the door fast so jump onto a quick wow all right many many many questions from you guys asking me just asking me questions so the number one probably probably one of the number one questions was why do we leave indonesia what are you.
Like people are like why would you even leave indonesia and go back to australia you're an idiot well we live a very like the lifestyle that we've created for ourselves is a very like free lifestyle and after being stuck in indonesia for a year and a half it was becoming super repetitive like the.
Fishing was the same it was just the same thing every single day and my girlfriend and i we love change so obviously coming to australia is a massive change plus probably the biggest thing for me being stuck in indonesia was not having all of my toys in one place and what i mean by that is.
Before we left to indonesia last time i had a car in australia and that four-wheel drive was packed full of spear fishing stuff bow hunting stuff it had everything surfboards long boards that had all the toys so like every everything we did we just stopped on the side of the road we go longboarding we.
Go fishing we go fly fishing we do all these kinds of different fishing but in australia in indonesia we were stuck because we only had a limited amount of stuff so that's something that i miss the most like driving a full drive pull over in the middle of the desert roll out of swag have a sleep wake up cook a f.
Start a fire cook a coffee those kinds of things started i really really started missing in indonesia and that's pretty much the prime reason why we've come back to australia to do this and then on the back of that question i suppose people are asking are you going to.
Continue doing videos in australia hell yeah man that's probably the reason another reason why we came here is to make the videos different change it up and um show you guys what australia's like because a lot of people ask me what australia is like so i want to show you guys what australia looks like through my eyes completely.
Living off the grid and pretty much the plan for australia is we cannot buy food obviously we're going to buy vegetables fruit all that kind of good stuff but meat fish all those kinds of things i'm going to try to challenge myself to never buy that kind of food we've only got to hunt it and eat it and cook it.
And just drive around australia and pretty much live my dream oh i tell you what i'm going to miss this bed because as soon as we get out of this quarantine we're pretty much going to be sleeping out of swag so this bed is going to be missed a question that i'm getting all the time also.
Is what car did you buy so i'm actually not going to reveal what car i bought yet because i haven't exactly bought it yet i've put a deposit on it but it is my dream car and um i'm 99 sure i'm going to buy it but i'm not going to tell you guys until i've actually got it.
Many many many questions about what camera gear do i use so i'll give you a complete rundown from top to bottom of exactly what i use for camera gear because that's a question that comes up all the time but the next question here is do you guys have a house all right we don't have a house we don't.
Have anything i'll show you everything that we own to our name right now so what i'm about to show you is everything that mucky and i own we don't know anything else except for this for the last five years this is my bag full of clothes that's all i've got for clothing and then obviously you guys see this rvca bag in.
The videos that's got fishing gear and camera gear in it i have two surfboard bags which are over there and by the way the surfboards are out because i've taken the wax off them because i've been so bored two surfboards one fishing tube full of fishing gear.
That's all i own in my entire life at this point right now that stuff there and then mac 10 pretty much owns this bag under here and this is her camera bag where she keeps all of her cameras and stuff in there so that is all of her stuff there and her camera bag we don't own a house we don't have a.
Car we don't have anything except for what i just showed you there so we're like fully minimalistic people right now but hopefully once we get a car and we get settled into australia we'll start um getting a bit more a bit more things but what we have right now i love traveling.
Like this it's easy we can go anywhere at any time and just take what we have i literally own like three pairs of shorts a couple of jumpers couple of shirts that is it i don't think you need any more than that one of the most frequently asked questions what is this knife.
All right this knife is i don't know what this knife is to be honest i bought it in indonesia in a little back backyard fishing shop it cost me like 150 000 rupiah which is like 13 14 in australia and i bought it to use once in a video and i just continued using it because.
It is an absolute little weapon of a knife unfortunately guys if you guys can all it says here is stainless steel china and then it's got like an eagle imprinted on it there so i don't know if you guys want to stop the video and try to search what that is but i have no idea i've never found it.
I've tried to search it for you i get asked a lot what it is i don't know but it's been through its absolute paces in the last year i never clean it i don't do anything and it is still a pretty good in really good quality knife so for 13 it was an absolute bargain but i'll probably step up to a proper.
A proper good quality knife once i get out of quarantine here camera gear here we go this is a question that gets thrown around so many times so what do i use i use a gopro 8 all i use is gopros i don't use like big cameras i don't use anything except for gopros i use a gopro 8.
Which has been an absolute beast before i had the gopro 8 i had a gopro 7 and then i used this which i'm filming on now which is a gopro 9. now this front screen on the gopro 9 is an absolute game changer but to be honest i can't see the difference between the gopro 7 the gopro 8 and the gopro 9 when.
I put them through premiere pro and i edit a video i really can't see the difference myself and i don't think you guys can too either because i use all three at gopro 7 gopro 8 gopro 9 in my videos and i don't see a difference but one thing that is an absolute bloody game changer if you've got a gopro.
Is the microphones on a gopro now everybody's tells me that my footage is crisp my sound is perfect and i have never used an external microphone i don't believe they work good i'm going to show you something that i use as a microphone as a buff when it's windy and this thing i can hold in the wind when i'm out on the boat.
Wind is peppering the microphone and when i get home and edit the edit the footage it is crystal clear and beautiful so this is what i use so it took me a while to find this thing but once i found it it is the best little contraption ever all it is is a little foam box it's just made out of fully foam and.
What happens is your gopro actually goes inside like this so this is one for the gopro eight you slide your little gopro inside it's a super snug fit that's what it looks like there so you go your gopro is completely covered obviously you can hook your gopro onto your tripod from there.
You've got your on button but that is a complete snug fit it's just a foam box around the gopro there's no floppy external microphones and it covers all of these speakers so there's a speaker there or a microphone should i say there another microphone on the side or something.
But these things you can literally just hold it in the wind and you don't get any of that static sound absolute game changers that cost like two or three dollars on ebay best thing i've ever bought and the one that i've got on the gopro nine i've had it on there for like eight months and it's still going good.
now then someone just knocked on the door which means lunch is here which is perfect time so i can show you guys what it actually looks like getting lunch when you're stuck in a quarantine room you got to put a mask on they knock on the door you've got to wait two minutes for them to walk down the.
Walk away from the door then you can open it grab your little bag and lunch go this is our last lunch no tomorrow's our last lunch you can stick outside only arm was it two minutes who cares just get it i'm hungry freedom all right this is lunch oh i was just about to show you what.
Drone i use but first we'll show you what lunch looks like in quarantine it's pretty much the same thing every day for 14 days straight all right a little packet of biscuits can of fanta museum salad which is actually pretty i'm happy with the salad.
That's pretty good and what have you got same salad and then what do you get a little and you get three pears that is lunch for us pretty much every day except we don't need this we don't need this and we donate this so we eat pretty healthy so that's going to be our lunch.
For the day we don't eat too much sugar it's obviously not good for you so we don't we're going to donate this to somebody else we don't believe that eating this much sugar is good for you so we've been collecting all of this sugary stuff which we don't eat and we're going to.
Donate it to people obviously who are less less fortunate so you get these fruit boxes which is just like a box of sugar cans of coke there's so much stuff this box is full of just sugary junk and you wonder why people walk out of here feeling depressed because they're just filling.
Their bodies with this stuff anyway somebody will enjoy it we don't all right i just inhaled that salad like an absolute vacuum cleaner let's get back to the camera setup so this is the drone that i've been using for the last couple of years this is a.
This is what i call this is what i call now the suicide drone because this does all of our suicide missions so we've got two drones now this one is i don't use the second drone i use this drone this is the drone that you'll see all the footage coming from in my previous videos it is a mavic pro dji mavic pro it's the first drone.
There's a dji mavic pro 2 this is the first one and this is an unbelievably strong drone we have smashed this into trees i've flown it into like into caves and it's just like lost lost sequence or frequency and it's just smashed into the wall into the side of my old car in full.
Speed into the side of my car um it has been an absolute dreamboat of a drone it still works but the gimbal is on on a little bit of an angle now and i can't fix that and we keep having a problem with these batteries where the battery puffs up here so we've thrown two batteries away this is the last battery i will be.
Getting more batteries in australia because i have some big plans for this drone because now this is our secondary drone it's called the suicide drone so this is going to be doing things which people probably wouldn't usually do with their drone so have a little bit of fun with this when.
We get back the only thing that's starting to happen because we're 24 7 around the ocean is that the little engines here are starting to corrode so it's got like corrosion from the ocean the sea water on all of the engines but apart from that this thing crystal clear footage never.
Had a problem with it it's been smashed into walls trees cars four or five times and it still just flies it's my little seagull so that's the drone that we use in all of our videos best thing and worst thing about staying in this room three seconds the best thing is that it.
Forced us to sleep it forced us to slow down that we have time to do the stuff on the computer but we can't be all the time on the go slow down i fly on that bike and what was the worst thing is the aircon the dry air yeah this thing 24 7.
14 days in a dry air-conditioned air it's not good and we both probably look like casper right now haven't seen sun for two weeks i don't think i've done my life without seeing sun for two weeks so that's missed hey yeah we are getting wide.
You know little pasty dogs all right something that absolutely restored my faith in humanity was it was like day three or day four into the in this room we were like pretty frothy it was all fresh and one of our subscribers a guy who subscribes to the channel who goes by.
The name nico sent us a care package and what an absolute bloody legend so my mate nico from port hedland sent us this basket and it was full of like beautiful strawberries apples all this fruit we pretty much demolished everything we've been playing uno to keep ourselves busy.
He included a fishing game which i'm going to show you guys in a minute because it's so epic also it came with a thousand a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle which maki smashed this and she's packed it up which took her actually quite a while that was a few days burning away at doing that.
And then here's the fishing game that he sent us so nico mate if you're watching this you're an absolute bloody legend look at this i can even go fishing in quarantine it's so sick thank you brother all right i'm gonna go for my afternoon bike ride one hour on the bike sweat a couple of bullets out and.
I'll probably see you guys back here this afternoon when we get there second knock on the door for dinner and um we'll tune back in maybe tonight we'll have a little bit of a celebration you guys can come with us because it is the last night of this survival challenge and i am frothing to get out of here so.
I guess i'll see you guys tonight maybe a couple of wines couple of beers who knows what's gonna happen but for now i'm gonna get on that deadly treadly see you guys in the afternoon and welcome to dinner time in quarantine all right this is what we've got our dinner has just got delivered that's our very very last dinner in here.
So i'll show you guys what we got we'll start with dessert for dessert we've got a little bit of chocolate cake seriously the size of an ant's foot but we don't eat that anyway we have four mains chicken and a little bit of vegetable it's not really oh yeah a little bit sorry a lot usually.
I'm pretty hungry after dinner but that you get these little salads and then you also get these little cascade lime and soda waters but we've actually ordered a bottle of wine because it is the last night someone's at the door but that is pretty much what our dinner looks like it is every night.
Is that's actually a good dinner hey that's good yeah today is good so that's a really good dinner we've been served some serious stuff that you probably wouldn't even serve to your poodle like an airport airplane food yeah it's like aeroplane food the thing that sucks a little bit is disappointing though we.
Pay 60 a day for meals in this room so we're paying 60 dollars a day breakfast is and then lunch is just a salad like that and like all i do is just give you they just load you up with sugar and dinner is that so you're paying 60 bucks a day each.
For that food it's not really worth it but then again it's not worth complaining either but anyway it's only 14 days two weeks i'll stay all right let's go get this bottle of wine you're gonna come with me this is the most exciting thing i've done in two weeks yeah doggy.
There we go we got a bottle of red wine for the night i ordered two beers i've got no idea what these are i've never seen them before anyway mac 10's got a little glass of champagne let's get out of here all right we'll see you guys in the morning there's still a handful of questions that i.
Haven't answered yet so i'll jump onto them we'll see you at breakfast until then much love oh good morning beautiful people it is day 14 we have just completed well we haven't completed we still have a whole entire day.
Stuck inside this little room but today is our last day last night we celebrated a couple glasses of wine we had our poxy little chicken and chicken and vegetable dinner but um look it's pretty early in the morning right now it's actually very cold in here and we just got that all-time knock on.
The door so it's time to go see what we got for breakfast this is by far the most exciting part of the day is every time you get a knock on the door you never know what you're gonna get what do we got what have we got all right this is the moment of truth you guys are opening this.
In real time with me so this is mac 10's bag and um it's very light that's it that's what monkey gets for breakfast a bowl of fruit and that bag is empty what did i get fruit box we'll add that to the charity selection diced two fruits we'll also add that to.
The charity because we don't eat it it's just why wouldn't they just give you like a like an apple or an orange that's just processed anyway in here some kind of a muffin and then in here what do we got a little bit of a bacon and egg roll so.
That's probably one of the best breakfasts we've had i've had the whole time here so that's it that's breakfast interesting that is madness that is the first bit of bacon i've eaten in probably how many years i don't even.
Remember when i had bacon last we never eat bacon in indonesia so that's pretty good all right there's a couple of questions that i still want to get off my chest with you guys that you guys have asked so yesterday when we did the gopro i showed you guys the gopro the windsock that i use.
Also i didn't a lot of people ask what settings i use for the gopro so i'm filming at 2.7 k at 60 frames a second and i run that over the gopro 7 gopro 8 gopro 9. it's all exactly the same i never change it obviously i don't do like slow-mo in my videos or anything so it's just 2.7 k at 60 frames a second that's what.
I film everything for the gopro on what videos will i be filming in australia so pretty much it's pretty much going to be identical kind of theme to what we're doing in in indonesia except for this time we're going to have a mad car we're going to have.
Surfboard spear guns we're gonna have all of the toys in the car so that's the main thing that i missed about being in indonesia so pretty much the same thing like survival videos fishing videos get back into spear fishing which you guys are asking a lot about get that suicide drone out do some fun.
Things with that it's going to be pretty much the same as indonesia if not better that's pretty much why i come home mud crab videos man cooking mud crabs on the fire that's something that i've missed like crazy so videos are pretty much going to stay the same they're just going to have that like australian twang to them now.
Anxiously anxiously pacing around the house right now waiting for four o'clock in the afternoon right now it is nine o'clock in the morning so we've got a pretty long wait until we can check out so look at you you don't even know what to do it's like i'm just pacing around waiting.
For four o'clock but longest that is pretty much it from us i think that all the other questions that i got asked i've i've covered in another video so that's pretty much it from us but if you guys are going to do a 14-day survival challenge like this that we're doing or a quarantine call it what you.
Will make sure you just come in here with like a a good mindset and you'll get through it it's not that hard but i could imagine it would be hard if you're doing it solo so hats off to those people who have done it solo because 14 days stuck in a room doesn't sound hard but it does get a little bit grindy.
So definitely the black the weights that helps telling people that you're claustrophobic when you're not to get a big window cooking bread on an iron all these little things are going to make your life so much easier so.
If you guys want to grab a little bit of merch grab this hoodie stay cold because it is freezing in purse right now so hoodies smash this button here subscribe here and um i suppose we will see you guys from australia it is going to be a weird and wacky couple of weeks transitioning into this move but.
You're bloody excited for it let's go girl yo see you guys very soon much love oh
