Okay so so so good oh this lid nothing more manly than chocolate chip oatmeal in the bread in the woods hey guys.
I'm in algonquin park with my buddy sean we're doing three days yesterday was our first day we got in early paddled around we didn't fish didn't fish at all so today today's not a big day yesterday we put.
In a little bit of distance to get here today's not a big day at all we're gonna devote the day to fishing even though i'm here and we'll see what happens so it's a good day yesterday it was uh not too buggy not too hot and it didn't rain it was.
Supposed to thunderstorm we got a couple drops so yeah looking forward to today looking forward for some fish in my belly going to get our boats we left them at the other end of the portage i tried out some fishing last night so we don't have to do the portals with our.
With our boats just this morning just our gear that's a that's a nice thing and then i think we've only got maybe five or six hundred meters of port towers broken up today if not even that i like your choice of words we tried we tried some fishing sean lied to me.
And said don't bring food we'll eat tons of trout i had rice some blueberries left over surprised they're still around tasty so so so.
So so kind of stuff that can be dangerous when you're on your own you know you fall and get him killed by a branch yeah no dope you made that look so much easier than me.
It's not over cut another one follow it right up fishing at the top on the top so foreign so i got a decent sized perch here we're gonna throw that guy in the pot.
We've got a three small smaller than this trout a couple of chubs uh small perch and then this guy pardon no no no i'm talking on camera uh i'm not going to get much meat off this.
Guy but combined with the other five or six fish we have that are all relatively the same size we'll get a meal and put it with some bannock or something too so that's done i'm getting hungry we're gonna cook up those fish now so.
I'm just going to get some firewood i'm going to do a couple different methods i left my sunglasses on back here to protect my eyes from these twigs the last thing i want the old stick in the eye let's make a nice neat fire pit so that you can actually cook on instead of having a big thing that we're gonna have.
A bonfire in which we're not gonna do so nice level spot for the grill to go on and get a fire going behind it and push the coals in there and then the chimney rock at the back some higher rocks that draw the smoke and the heat up reflects back into the back of the pot so it's more like.
Cooking in an oven instead of just in a frying pan you're making me hungry so here's our pot o fish menage a fish there's uh perch fall fish in frame fall fish slippery fish perch.
And then there is did you what are these ones that's the sean caught a monster fall fish like uh i don't know not even comparable to the other size ones and then he's also got two little brookies in there i caught two brookies as well but.
He's a live release bag that's what everybody likes about me you know yeah there you go we're gonna do fish three different ways tonight we're gonna have fish crisp fried fish in the frying pan and we're going to do i'm going to stuff one of these fish.
I've got some stuffing here bread crumbs onion garlic pepper so we'll see which one we like the best something you don't want to try at home when you're cooking for your family your wife because she's probably not going to like it but these little parasites in there flukes i think there.
You can pop those out easy enough get rid of them don't do anything to harm the meat but they also don't do any harm once you cook them to eat them either so generally just leave them in there that and the little black parasites so i'm just cutting it open so i can.
Stick a little bit of the stuffing right directly inside the fish so it cooks so nice with in flavor we're just going to stick that right at the edge of the edge of the fire not over the coal so it cooks slowly otherwise it'll burn nothing fancy with that guy tender.
Yeah that stuff really falls apart that's the fall fish fall fish all right and test out the fall fish cheers cheers oh there's nothing wrong with that it's pretty good you know the good thing about it is that trout and algonquin trout anywhere are at risk somewhat it's a global warming especially but.
You know any time you can put pressure on another fish that can take it take it off the trail it's a good thing algonquin bass perch fall fish great target species yeah those perch leave the eggs in mm-hmm yeah brook coat fry now i'm gonna open up the perch which is.
Like a stuffed perch here and then we have our fire roasted fall fish just to get a i wanted to do this just to get a real sense of what it actually tastes like with it without spices and fish crisp and stuffing and stuff on it so to me that's something.
If i was hungry forgot food or didn't bring as much food like i've done on other trips including this one then that that's probably how i'm gonna have to eat i'm not gonna have spices so i'll see how that tastes i'm sure it's fine but also sure it's not as good as trout.
Perch and stuffed fall look at the fish coming off of that that smells good oh yeah perfectly cooked nice that should be good look at that that monster perch she's tasty though that's a real deal full moon too.
It's a beautiful morning it actually got pretty chilly last night and the most do i've ever experienced i went to i went without the tent fly and the inside of my sleeping bag sorry inside of my tent and the outside of my sleeping bag i'm drenched there's a puddle in the bottom of my tent so.
If it wasn't the last night i would have put my fly on when i saw the dew or when i realized it was going to be dewy night but no more sleeps out here so i'm not too concerned about it we've got a pretty decent day ahead of us it's uh 7 20.
In the morning and he'll probably be going until about two i think until we get to the car and a nice long drive home it's been a good trip i've had a lot of fun all right folks i'm in my own car now we got done canoeing back to the car at.
Around 3 p.m it's now 7 p.m sean and i drove to his house in his vehicle and then now strapped up the canoe on here and i'm heading home so i had a great time sean's a cool guy we had never camped together before we didn't know each other uh we met through youtube he started putting videos out.
About a year ago i started watching him he does awesome canoe trips tons of fishing very knowledgeable dude very down to earth humble guy really got along with him well so i highly suggest you guys check out his youtube channel he's going to have a video of our trip as well and he's got tons of other really cool videos that uh that are.
