i need to find myself out here 200 kilometers should do the trick well do it.
Storm army bring it on oh man i can't stay here very special very special place i'm in my short chair today how are you guys.
Joe here i hope you're enjoying the series we're going to jump right back into it but i got an awesome sponsorship for this video by mymedic we're going to dig into this pack talk about them a little bit my medic is known for making the best first aid kid on the planet but they also make great emergency kits like this one.
Access to life-saving equipment is essential for anyone who spends time outdoors whether you're going for a day hike or a multiple day canoe kayak adventure having access to the proper equipment is so important my medic has compiled all of that important equipment into a rugged waterproof and lightweight bag.
Each kit is packed with life-saving tools that are easily accessible and highly organized these bags are also super tough and functional it can even double as a flotation device i love the tent essentials bag it looks great has a ton of features and it's packed with a bunch of emergency supplies just in case so this is pretty awesome this is going.
To go right in my truck like you saw the villa how the valve works it's a waterproof it's a backpack if you have to get up and go you can throw this stuff in there not just a bag and then inside these they're all uh separate and there's things like food rations in this one or and you can close them back close the bags back up too this is food and.
Water this is survival blankets stay alive guide uh ginormous hygiene towel inflatable ginormous inflatable dry bag screwdriver headlamp uh a toque emergency baby poncho this is a secondary little uh emergency kit first aid kit that i'm gonna throw in my backpack so.
That's pretty awesome and my medic wants to hook you guys up they're going to give you 20 off all you have to do is follow the link in the description that's it i'll put the link below get 20 off your order this is a pretty awesome fit man pretty awesome bag so thanks to my medic and thanks to you guys and we're back onto the video.
Good morning it's already pretty hot i slept in i needed it there's some wind gusts check out how big this camp is there's my docking spot i take out my canoe my hammock and fire pit way up there.
And then all the way over there is my tent well it's one o'clock now as you can probably imagine i'm staying here again i've been doing stuff like cooking.
Swimming camp chores brushing my teeth napping reading looking at the map just relaxing so and then trying to escape the sun and the wind too some sometimes each uh when i get too chilly i need to go in the sun when i get too hot.
Let's head over to the wind right now i've moved my camp over here into the shade a nice spot so let's go over here eat some lunch i've gotta really uh pick what i need to eat when i need to eat it because things are starting to go bad.
If they're not going bad they i'm surprised like check this cheese out this is liquid just liquid cheese and those ones on i put on there were not too solid themselves so i haven't opened these yet these are.
Vacuum sealed still this salami so i'm wondering if that'll stay good so i don't want to open it until this is gone the one that's open already it's just too windy to paddle like i needed a rest day but i could have paddled down the lake a little bit.
And camped close by but i just it's too windy to paddle cheers just taste off this is the biggest lake on my trip and this is the windiest day i mean it's smart to just sit it out i hope tomorrow's not as windy.
And you can see the wind has brought in some clouds real pretty looks like a turtle shell on the water spotted i don't know i don't know what kind of egg that would be maybe not turtle maybe bird egg.
it's windy as you can see we're making tacos tonight that's some dehydrated uh taco seasoning beef already made that ha it's been sitting in the water and rehydrating cold soaking for the last hour.
I got some tortillas some salsa some shredded cheese which is now very very juicy and uh we're gonna try and get this going it's ridiculously windy i've got to get out of here it seems like it's blowing something in i don't know i've got to get out of here pretty early tomorrow to.
To get on the water before the wind kicks up if it if it's going to do it again because this is too much he's going with me it's not like i have to battle it it's just it's it's called whitewater lake for a reason you know.
a couple generous scoopings here we got one oh yeah maybe i can make three out of this that'd be perfect yes i can this cheese is uh oh it's so wet it's garbage after this.
This is it there's no more of this i better use a lot of it whoa i got some salsa damn son put a little pack tight that's so good that came back perfectly this is a good.
Call everything except for the cheese can like uh sustain maybe the salsa too well it's bedtime it's about 11 30 now tomorrow i'm getting up and leaving really early and i'm gonna hope to make.
It to the cabin tomorrow the uh wendell beckwith center of the universe and if not i'll get nearby and then i'll check it out the day after but either way we're getting down that way tomorrow it's all on the same lake it's probably going to be a two day travel to get.
Across the lake i'm going to bed i'll see you guys early in the morning good night good morning guys it's 6 a.m i'm gonna get up eat a little oatmeal and get out of here dang the wind's already starting to pick up i was hoping i'd be able to be out of.
Here before that happened anyways almost unpacking up i'm throwing my life jacket on today because we're on such big water i wear it when i feel it's necessary i'm sorry if that offends people it's not legal for me to wear it it's legal for me to have it i'm not trying to set an example i'm just doing me.
I suggest you do what you feel is safe for you for yourself you've also got to remember that this is a very stable boat i'm like i'm literally just went to the front of it i'm standing up in it it's super wide and i'm sitting basically at the water level on this.
Uh and the seat and i have a lot of heavy gear regardless i feel safe oh yeah some daunting clouds i gotta pedal into the wind here to around to go around this bend and then.
We'll be in with the wind for most of the trip today if not all of it very very good campsite with walleye right there nice and calm right here that's the way i'm going but that is what is blowing my way.
I might start to regret my decision to not paddle yesterday with the super strong winds across this big lake i might get caught in whatever that turns out to be we'll see the wind is blowing in my favor which is.
Good i'm headed that way on the big open water so the way i have it set up on the map or bruce does rather i'm gonna hug the north shore of this big lake and there's some islands that kind of separate myself and the big.
Water at least up until the point where i have to duck down south to head to the cabin on the same lake so i'll be relatively protected and close enough to the shore where if uh or when rather.
This weather rolls in uh i won't be exposed too bad i'll head to shore and duck for cover real quick under the canoe or whatever i have to do i have time to set up a tarp i'm just coming through some little shallow part here in between some islands so i gotta pull up my.
My lure i thought i might get a nice big pike on this lake so i'll troll all the way through it those clouds don't look good we're getting some pretty decent size roller waves i kind of wish i would have went yesterday with the wind but the gusts.
Were what scared me uh i looked they did end up looking on my inreach and they were gusting to 20 29 miles an hour it's a lot of kilometers that's a whole lot of kilometers it's got to be close to 50 kilometers an hour 40 something at least but anyways the gusts is what scared me.
I would have went if it was just normal wind all day long and that wind was 16 miles an hour normally or 19 miles an hour adjusting to 29 and today it's supposed to be nine gusting to 16. so i can handle that a little bit better but it would have been fun it would have been a nice.
White white cappy trip you know they don't call this white water lake for nothing i'm sure but anyways today's a good day to paddle it too i have lots and lots of tailwind so.
Nothing to worry about might be a little bit wet i do my biggest concern is my big camera i haven't had to put it away at all yet and uh there's not much room to put it somewhere i can definitely squeeze it in somewhere but i'd rather not have to do that that old camera's been through some.
Stuff with me already that's for sure freezing cold conditions quite wet very hot so it keeps on ticking just like old joe thanks for looking and keeps on riding down this north channel very very pretty.
Very tight in here i had no clue it was gonna be like this i thought it was me all open i should have looked at the map better this is nothing like i thought it was gonna be i was actually kind of like nervous to come onto this lake not scared not like just a bit daunting it's it's such a.
Huge lake i know i keep saying that but it really is and then i get out onto it and this is one of the prettiest paddles i've done i'm having a great time it's just another lesson to me i keep learning lessons out here it's like and then relearning them and doing it.
Every time i get that but like in normal life you get stuck in your ways or whatever but just never never try to try not to worry about things beforehand when you don't know the facts and there's nothing nothing you can do about it anyways you.
Know what i mean it's like you got to kind of roll with the punches and just take things as they come and don't be too worried about it because nine times out of ten most things work out obviously that's not in every case but this is just me again.
Not preaching to you just personal growth out loud if you don't like it why'd you click on the video you know what's to come you know what you get when you watch old joe i needed a trip like this man i really did.
This is a super awesome place and a good time by myself i'm actually paddling to the center of the universe as we speak at least that's what wendell beckwith thought it was wendell beckwith was an eccentric inventor.
In this lifetime who moved from his home all the way to this big lake in the heart of the wabikini district in northern ontario this is the biggest lake in the park by far and we're smack dab in the middle of it i've been paddling all day.
I camped on this lake last night and the night before and i'm paddling all day to get to best island and best island is where the remains of wendell's cabins his inventions all of his journals his thoughts.
He thought that this place was the center of the universe he thought that pie 3.14 had something to do with it very intelligent man but definitely eccentric bruce the owner at wabikini outfitters knew wendell but he has a lot of history on him so we're gonna go see if we can find the.
Cabin cabins ones dug into the earth as well i know some of them are falling down we're gonna try and beat this storm there i imagine i can make it there in about four hours or so again i've already been paddling quite some time this place does feel different.
Than the rest of the park i can tell you that much i've already traveled quite a bit like i said and there is a certain feel to this big white water lake in wauwakimi park it's uh it's magical there's islands everywhere it's really really big water the sky is very ominous and it's fitting it's a.
Very fitting feel for the day this is just another testament for the pack boats for me howling and it's paddling this with a double blade like if i was a solo paddler in a normal canoe which don't get me wrong i like the idea of and i have one i just got one i knew it wasn't for this trip because of the.
Capacity was much smaller than this i needed to carry more gear but if i was alone single blading a normal traditional canoe against all this i don't think so not me at least like i'm going sideways to the waves.
Basically on a little bit of an angle trying to get to where i'm getting and it's pushing me but i have control and i'm sitting on the ground i don't know man i i definitely like the idea of a single blade you know and it's romantic it's it's like a canoeing thing canadian.
Canadian thing but it's like for efficiency and for joe nothing beats this double blade in a pack boat when i'm solo i will have no qualms about going tandem in a normal canoe with it with a single blade but like come catching some waves.
Here man i don't know it would be a a lot longer of a process and i maybe have to wait for a longer time for the wind to die down all that stuff i'm going with the waves for the for the most part i could just tell like with a single blade it's just not not something i'd want to do.
Personally personally it's all about joe i'm just kind of pointing her and holding on here looks like rain looks all wet up ahead there hey it's all wet smokey hard to choke.
What do you think do you think sunny day or man i can't even keep it straight oh my goodness to keep her straight now the rollers are coming in and i gotta go kind of go not the exact way it wants me to go.
Makes me glad i did not paddle yesterday after all it's good for the most part but i don't need to go that way i need to go that way i keep throwing my ass end out because it's heavier i got my pack up at the front too trying to balance it but.
It's a moot point anyway just a little bit of a struggle here it's okay everything's fine ready it's spinning me i gotta go i can see a wall of rain coming down in.
Front of me not too far off i am absolutely flying with some of these waves on top for a second or two it's impossible to fight it i just have to go this way and uh and pick my way along i don't think i'll be able to leave wendell's.
Cabin tonight or at least that area with the direction that this is going i can't fight this i can barely even see straight uh there's no way i can fight this so we only have to overnight near there or at least wait until.
Later on if the waves die down the wind dies down man i'm cruising uh maybe i can make it across but it's a big open stretch and uh more open than i've done yet and it's super windy here so i can't imagine what.
It'll be like there time to be too careful the rain is any second away pretty big swells here yeah very wise decision yesterday to not uh start the paddle with those it's not even gusting today but those gusts yesterday i would have.
Been tossed all around this the wind is grabbing the back of my boat because it's so heavy trying to spin it on me because i'm not going the exact direction and uh i blew my elbow out trying to fight it already.
I'm around this corner from the island uh where wendell's cabin is waves are pushing me into a big rock okay anyways uh around this cabin or sorry around the bend should be the island where weddle's cabin is and we're gonna take the shelter from the storm there taking a lull in the rain to put my life.
Jacket or my rain jacket on i had to cover up my camera like i said but i didn't put my life jacket on my rain jacket on i just got it out anyways getting close to the island an adventure.
Sure okay okay on we go onward young joseph that point right there i think is the entrance point to get to the cabins and don't get me wrong when i say cabins.
They're not going to be hospitable it's not like i'm going to post up in there and be comfortable or anything i think they're dilapidated a lot of them are have no roof and things like that but we shall go see we'll go see if there's a trail i don't know if this is the right spot all right i've stashed my canoe there is.
A trail i stashed my canoe right here i got my big camera in a plastic bag looks like there's been some trees blow down cover the trail going in that's good with a big heavy backpack on okay wendell okay.
Wow firewood's still cut and stacked there it is there's one of them oh man yeah there's no sheltering in that holy smokes huge huge wow.
The detail would you just look at it oh it smells of cedar look at that fireplace that is huge this is very cool i'm so deep so deep in the middle of the wilderness right now this dude believed that this was the center of the universe seriously try not to get tetanus in here.
The less tetanus the better i think wow it's warmer in here some geographic from god knows when oh july 1975. now i know when and you do too this is a palace look at the architecture in this place.
Man everybody who signed it starting in 2014 on this book went up to 2020 and then this one starting at 91 1991 people from everywhere chicago southern ontario.
Lots of lakehead universities schools tourism north carolina indiana missouri massachusetts ontario michigan vermont stoney creek pretty cool 2012. some people have stories in there if some people just sign their names i.
Think i'm going to keep up the tradition and sign my name if this pen works nothing fancy just the old joe hancock this is the last page everything looks pretty decent except for this page so i'm just going to skip a couple there rip scout so this is pretty cool.
Morton salt that's from windsor that's from my hometown all the way here all the way here you can take that boy out boyota windsor if you can't take the windsor or the boy oh man thanks wendell this is pretty.
Cool thanks to uh thanks to everybody who helped me get in here getting me here thanks to bruce the outfitter for sure all right if i'm not mistaken there is one more cabin and it's built into a hill and it's got to be the coolest one yet so.
I'm gonna shut this door back and go see if we can find it all right i might have found it they've got some orange fence around it i'm sure that wasn't original here we go i'm not interested in what is known i'm.
Only interested in what is unknown wendell beckwith wendell beckwith lived here from 61 until his death in 80. look at the dude he looks like he lived here there he is inventing center of the universe 3.14 cabins in all their glory.
So yeah i believe this is the one yeah this is built into the hill holy smokes wow look at this place oh my this is most impressive about one yet always tools what's up bro.
Most of her terrible mediator oh man old saw this place this place look at the the woodwork there's a skylight this is wild you can tell he put so much effort into.
This this is not a normal log cabin this isn't thrown together this is everything meticulously thought out and executed well i hope you enjoyed this trip to the center of the universe with me i'm gonna sit here enjoy my sandwich and then i.
Get going because uh i still got six or so days to go i took a rest day yesterday so on the water we go if you do want to come check this place out give bruce at wah bikini outfitters a call well the rain could stop now i'd be happy.
With that very cool wendell very cool spot in the middle of the wilderness the center of the universe i'm heading out of here uh might not be the best idea but.
I don't want to sit around again today it's only uh around noon i'm gonna see how far i can get so we can't do it i have absolutely 100 wins bound yeah it's just.
Yeah i'm flying now against the way i was trying the windshield went right away against the way i was trying to go like uh i'm trying to go that way and i'm moving if you look at the shoreline behind me i'm moving that way i can't paddle again i'm gonna have to.
Wait till tomorrow morning early early early tomorrow morning and try again and uh yeah i guess this is just a half a day this is how it is out here okay uh i'm going to take shelter.
The wind's picking up again all right guys i'm just checking in not much is going on just been laying here reading my book it's uh it's like almost 10 o'clock now i spent the day reading my book journaling i took a nap i just cooked up some uh.
Pepper beef and rice uh alpine air good dehydrated meal um and just boil water in my pot and pour it into the thing and rehydrate it that way i haven't been doing anything uh i tried kept checking it i kept checking to see if i could leave but the waves are just out of this world.
The wind keeps kicking up the rain keeps coming so it's safer and better bet to just wait here and i will uh i'm leaving tomorrow morning regardless i'm getting out of this lake so uh yeah regardless of what's going on tomorrow i will be out of here i'm gonna head to bed soon just keep reading my book which is awesome by the.
Way sigrid olsen's the lonely land loving it this is the cover he writes in a way that is awesome very uh enjoyable to read all right folks have a good night i will see you in the morning good morning uh a couple things to.
Report my left eye i'm not sure what's up with it i don't know if you guys can tell if there's a difference between that on my right it's uh it's bothering me a whole bunch i don't know if i got bit during the night on my eyelid or something.
But it feels more like the eyeball itself it's uh making me feel even worse for my poor autumn she has to deal with this all the time every day every day since she was born anyway it's uh.
7 51 and i've left camp i woke up earlier but the wind was still howling so i waited a little bit but i don't want to wait too long it's gray overcast day my eyes in a way i gotta make it.
Across the lake into the wind so i'm hoping it's better than yesterday it seems like it's better than yesterday already so we're gonna head north into the wind round the bend of the island then head.
East and the wind is coming north northwest so as soon as i round the bend i'm gonna have to fight to stay straight or else i'm gonna end up way back down here when i gotta kind of go up that way and that's even after i get around the bend fighting the north wind but it doesn't seem like it'll be so bad.
Today i've already made more progress than i did yesterday when i tried to leave so ah big day today 100 big day today we're not stopping we have to make some ground and there's barely any campsites on the next lake over i have to make it through a river system.
And then halfway down this next big lake before there's a campsite so it might be a late day i don't know that said i haven't caught walleye or anything in two days and uh if i see some spots that are good for walleye i'm certainly gonna stop all right it's not so bad at all.
I'm now past the point where i got yesterday and it is one quarter as windy not even so we're gonna be all right it's still a slog it's still a good paddle with this turn i start heading.
that east point and then the next one and then the next one and the next one i forgot my fishing rods both of them both of them i cannot leave them it's such a paddle back.
It's going to be such a paddle back i'm gonna i'm going back and this is this is such a bummer like i was i i did not need this uh the wind is picking up a little bit more now too i made it so far and i i have to still go all the way.
Back my elbows shot i did not need this i would have too much gear and i was in such a hurry to get over there i grabbed them this morning i grabbed them they were with my rod my my paddle.
I grabbed them i just set them aside so that i could put everything in the boat first i put everything in the boat i was like all right let's go oh stupid stupid stupid joe really really the opposite of what i needed here they are.
That was uh an hour and a half of just absolute fun so now we're on our way i've got my line in the water if i catch a pike if it's decent i don't gonna keep it to eat it.
Or a walleye or a laker whatever the case may be i don't even know if there's lakers here but i know there's lakers in the next lake try for one there too but we still got lots of paddling to do on this lake alone so i'll probably get with you guys when.
I'm entering the other one wind is okay it's not raining my eye seems to be clearing up a little bit too so that's good all right if you follow my instagram you'll know that uh i found this in lake huron walking with the dogs along the shore i had to dig out a bunch of old.
Fishing nets and everything and i ended up bringing it with me look at the size of this thing look at the little googly eyes the size compared to my hand okay it's a biggin we're in the deepest part of the biggest lake the most wide open expanse of lake that i'm going to be in on this whole trip.
And uh i thought why not i brought it let's throw it in see if we can't catch a big old pike or whatever's in here maybe a lake trout if there are some we'll just troll with it along our way we still got a decent ways to paddle on this open lake and uh yeah.
See what we can catch in here it'll be fun fun fun to pull up something big or whatever it is i couldn't believe it when i saw it with the silly painting on it the googly eyes and the sparkly colors and everything it's like a that's a big big fish kind of lure.
Big great lake fish kind of lure this is like the great lakes of wabakimi here i'm gonna let like all that line out let's see what we get i hooked on to something in this big lake with that big lure i showed you i have no clue what it's going to be it was down far man almost as much line as i had out.
No clue i would assume a big pike it's got some heft to it that's for darn sure oh i'm so happy i did this i'm so happy i did this i'm in the middle of the deepest stretch the most wide open stretch.
That i'll be in on this whole trip with the biggest lure down the deepest that i've oh and it's a freaking walleye it's a freaking walleye i'm keeping this guy your lunch bud you're a freaking lunch bud who would have thought.
Who would have thought you're a freaking king thanks bud wow i would have thought a pike for sure this was down so darn far no joke all right man i don't even know if you can fit that thing in your mouth bud but you're going to go into mine.
Open water that open water feel i don't know is that still a thing i've been on here for a while i'm not sure if that's still that lure's not too shabby i pulled up another one out of there i pulled him up slow.
He seems fine i'm gonna put him back in i kept the other one for lunch so he's gonna go back in oh yeah there he goes they almost have no fight when they're coming up from that that uh deep i'm not gonna cast anymore or i'm not gonna troll anymore for them i don't.
Want to uh injure them on the way up i already got my guy and i thought i might be able to grab a pike out of here that was the point but uh seems like that's a walleye killer that freaking the great lake diver yeah i must have got bit on the eye.
Anyways okay still paddling with soap and water what a change from yesterday man this lake is almost glass i'm uh i'm past the big part of the paddle now big open water part of the paddle and i'm into a little protected cove before i turn.
Another bend and start heading north east i'm getting pretty tired i kept that fish for lunch it's a quarter after 10 now so i imagine yeah about an hour hour and a half i'll stop find a little spot and cook this fish up it's all better because uh.
I don't trust my lunch anymore i don't trust my lunch meat or my cheese or anything i almost i think it's done that means i have to rely on fish every day which is okay i just uh i just know me and when i need to rely on fish it usually doesn't happen.
But maybe that's different this time this place toe up i'm gonna float up so let's go there and have a shore lunch nice sandy beach bonus bunch of driftwood a fire and a shore lunch sweet i've wanted to do this.
Since the beginning of the trip oh it's the first time i've been out of the boat in a couple hours so this is such a bonus.
I need food it's a nice walleye i cooked it properly this time i wasn't using enough oil and i wasn't getting it hot enough this is gonna be perfect i can tell where the other time sometimes they were soft this is crispy.
Oh man that walleye was down deep nice cold water fish super clean not like the other ones weren't oh my god so thankful for this walleye.
I've got a i've got to get up into a river system now pedal northeast into a river system after i eat this fuel and then there's no campsites all the way through the river and halfway down the next big lake so i got to get a move on for real.
I uh i don't have any worries that i'll get to camp tonight and if i don't i'll pull up on the side of the uh lake or or river or whatever if conditions are favorable i'll put my tent up if not i'll put the hammock up put the tarp up call it good.
Totally prepared for that hey i'm actually okay with it i've stayed at awesome sites every every night i've had stellar stellar campsites every single every single night it'd be okay if i had to camp on on like a side of a cliff or something i'd be all right with that someone was in a hurry eating.
so no one was over here off we go with this last little stretch i'm out of the big lake proper and starting into the river that way my eyes bugging me.
I'm not too sure what's going on i'm gonna i don't want to take it now because it'll make me drowsy but i'm gonna take some benadryl when i get to camp see if that'll help started here today paddle up to here the huddle back got all the way here.
Now i want to go up into here and that's where the river starts to look like a river bonus it's a nice tall stand of birch haven't seen that at all oh it's a big fish.
Yep biggest fish of the trip okay i gotta fight him i gotta fight on my hands here decent pike boys and girls all right we're gonna let this guy go nice and slowly.
Nice what a rush cool cool biggest fish of the trip no need to be scared a little joe moose number three there's a rapid right there i got a portage around first portage in a few days.
Love the feel of this place off the big water this portage trail is definitely less used than a lot of the other ones i saw uh on the first half of my trip today is day seven out of a potentially 14 day trip 13 or 14 i believe i've worked it out.
Too now that's why it says do not run on the map caution do not it's run in here man i think those are ash trees that's pretty crazy on this little tiny island hard wood i'm 90 sure those are ash trees.
That's so weird all right oh all right i'm still paddling it's four o'clock now so um there you go spider move on yeah uh i don't imagine i'll be at camp till.
Six or seven it's been a long day i'm gonna eat chili tonight i've been thinking about it for a long time now i did that 400 meter portage or 450 and it was not a 450 it was like almost a thousand it felt like the one where i said oh that's why it says don't run it well there was two sections of.
Rapids i ended up running the first my gopro was dead and the camera was already with the bag at the end at the end i wouldn't brought the camera anyways but i portaged my heavy bag and the camera and some other stuff to the end and as i was walking back i saw this little side trail coming up after the first rapids i was.
Like i knew it that's like that's the original portage show that's what that's what would make it 400 meters instead of like six or eight or whatever the heck it was so i strapped everything in and ran the first set and it was pretty exhilarating but no footage of it just have to take.
My word it was fun and then i got hungry and i paddled and i paddled some more we're coming up to a 250 somewhere 200 somewhere soon and then that's the last portage and i have a good distance on this river still and then a really good distance on the lake.
Yep all right i just came off the last portage on the igoki going into white clay but i still have a good chunk on the ego before i enter white pipe i'm telling you this because i found something on the trail.
I looked down and i saw the brown leather stood out so if this is yours it's damascus bone handle brass pommel leather sheath you can come and get that right there i possibly could camp here it's 4 30.
It's super buggy here and i kind of want to get to my destination i kind of had put it in my head i wanted to get there today so i'm going to continue on i might fish there in those rapids for a minute we'll see this is a long long long paddle day i'm getting tired and hungry.
I keep snacking but i gotta stop because i'm running out running the snacks this is look at all the bugs can you see the rugs black flight breeding ground definitely not camper here some crazy crazy waves man that's huge it's really big.
Really really cool spot but super buggy no fish so on we go and just like that we come out to the lake the camping lake and the sun starts to shine for the first time in the day my eye is getting worse it's bothering me quite a bit and i'm.
Kind of getting concerned because it's for sure not a bite there i don't know if there's anything in it i've flushed it a couple times with my water filter my filtered water um i don't know.
What is a stye the only other thing is i can think of is a stye what is a stye a stye in your eye it's how the top feels like it's here it hurts a lot i'm getting a headache from it it feels like my eye is getting swollen and hot it is hot that's.
Juicy too and i've been in the bush for seven days like kind of concerned eyes are uh you only got two of them you know only got two anyway we'll see how it goes i gotta find camp now it's six o'clock.
It's sand big sand bounds big clear lake puffy clouds oh i can't wait to get to camp cannot wait still going it's quarter to eight now this will be a 12 hour 12 plus hour day mostly in the boat only two small port charges.
I am running on empty i can't snack anymore i counted all my food not too long ago in the boat i cannot afford to so i have to wait until i get to that point in front of us before i can camp and eat well i don't have to but i want to that's my goal.
A point there is this it i think this might be it oh is it well it's not much of a campsite it might have been at one point even a campsite at all but.
This is basically what i have this little spot i'm gonna put my my tent up here oh man i can't wait i shut my tent up but i gotta eat i am so hungry it's not even funny okay i got some melted butter in there i have a flatbread i'm going to do this i'm going to do this.
I'm going to put some jalapeno havarti cheese in there that might be not great anymore and i got garlic i'm gonna put a bunch of garlic in there okay and now i have to.
Fire the bush buddy back up and hopefully i'll roll that up and make a little bit of a little cheesy type thing to go with my my chili i am uh really hungry really really hungry.
Oh yeah that's done nice what a day that was honestly that was was a lot let's try this out yep yep oh man all right guys.
That battery is going gonna die in that camera i had to eat this i'll switch it over after cheese is dripping cheese is dripping i'm gonna make this quick all right guys i'm in bed uh i really gotta figure out what i'm gonna do about my eye i gotta assess the.
Situation in the morning i don't know what's going on but it's closing up it's hurting a lot it's watering like crazy it's gunking it's not really pink it's not really red or pink and i don't have any of the feeling of pink eye and i don't know how like i don't think it's that you know what i mean but i don't know what it is it's.
Not a bite it's just pouring off my face and it hurts constantly um i took a prednisone because that's the only thing i can think of to take because i don't have i'm no clue what it is um i might have to like.
Bust my butt through the rest of this trip or um or cut it short i don't know i don't know what to do i'll have to uh i'll see in the morning but there's so many mosquitoes i have to see in the morning if it's still bad or.
This bad or worse then maybe i have to make a call it's not what i want to do but something so little taking me out is uh it's not cool you
