all right welcome to the field day kitchen   what's going on doggies welcome to a fishing mission all right oh it's not so much a fishing mission it's a bit more of a um.

Get off me it's a bit more of just getting outside being outdoors and um testing a few things out so we've got a brand new tent and i'm just absolutely fizzing to set that up but what i'm a little bit more excited about right now is having a look at the water because.

Man we're back in that same spot where we got that monster barracuda last time dude pretty much ever since we got that barracuda on the light gear i've wanted to come back because there was the barracuda there was the big gt following the fish around and um it was just a lot of fun like even.

Landing the fish on this rocks was a lot of fun solo so we're back i want to see if i can get a bigger better fish this time who knows but just down there that's where we're fishing so um oh man let's get this party started so this is pretty sick so inside this bag.

I have everything i've got a tent a mattress a pillow all my fishing gear all my water two fishing reels gopros drones absolutely everything fits in this bag so it's pretty sick so i'll show you this tent it's super small the mattress is epic um.

The pillow now we've got a pillow dude we are fully fully stepping it up in this world right now so i'm gonna find a nice bit of flat ground here to set up this tent quickly whacked it together and then we're gonna start fishing doggies look at this this is the fluffiest soil this is absolutely beautiful so i've.

Just made a spade out of a bit of rock i found what i'm going to do is just dig a hole here get all of this fluffy soil and i'm just going to chuck it all over the ground making ourselves a beautiful bed for the tent.

Boom all right so the tent it's uh it's coming along nicely but i tell you what man i would do anything for my swag right now swags are so easy so comfortable tents are a bit of a pain in the ass but um this thing's a bit of a weapon so i'll show you guys how i tie down the um.

Corners of the tent because i don't use ten pegs number one they're just a pain in the ass number two they're heavy in my backpack and they take up room so i don't use ten pegs i'll tie this this cordage onto the corners and i'll just put a rock there so i'll show you guys like a knot which is like a quick release knot.

I also use this knot like um for spear fishing boating this knot comes in handy for heaps of stuff so i'll show you guys maybe it'll come in handy for you one day all right so we're just going to bust a little bit of um string through there once we've got this wrap this this lead here.

Around this about four times five times that's enough bring this loop back through you the tag end through the loop and then we'll just slide this knot up continue sliding it up like this and you want you want it to be looking exactly like this so you've got the bow.

Here i don't know if you guys can see you've got the bow this and there's the there's the four loops that you did now you can pull that tight and i'm telling you right now that will never ever come undone so i used to use this when i was spear fishing when i used to spear fish and if there's.

Like that will never ever come undone and if you're ever having a problem or like when i want to set up unpack my tent all you got to do is pull that there and that knot completely comes undone so it's a very safe knot to use in the water that's why i used to use it for spear.

Fishing but um it just comes in handy for everything so you just go around four times the tag end put through the loop slide it all up there pull it slide it and i'm telling you right now i've been dragged through the water by some decent fish and that's never come undone.

And then like i said if you ever want to undo it you just rip that tag in there boost and it'll come undone so it's a pretty handy knot for everything really so it's actually very very simple to also make your own tent pegs like it's very easy to make a 10 peg that pretty much is a 10 peg right there all right so i.

Just shortened that 10 peg a little bit because this ground is like super firm so it's going to take the stick real easy but just like that you've got a tent peg and that thing ain't gonna go anywhere because this ground is super rock solid and um there you go you don't have to take.

Tent pegs camping in your backpack that thing will stay there super solid and you won't trip over it so this tiny little packet here is my mattress this is what we're gonna sleep on it's um it's so crazy dude so this is like an inflatable mattress and it's actually well i haven't slept on it yet.

I sort of blew it up when i got it but it is insane man it came with this bag and i was like what comes with a puncher repair kit but it comes with this bag and i was like when i originally saw this bag i was like what even is this thing like you do this obviously that clip there.

Clips onto this clip here so you clip that on and then i'm like all right so what do you do you like blow like this but it doesn't blow up like it that's not blowing up and then i read the instructions and what you do is you just do this you go and it fills up with i don't know how.

That works but it fills up with air and then you just squeeze it in give it another on fills up with air and before you know it you've got a dreamboat mattress look at her go i don't even know how that works but here we go at this man just like that fully inflated.

Mattress and it is super strong and like thick man it's like oh i'm gonna sleep good tonight this thing is a little pillow and it is it's sick same sort of deal three breaths maybe four boosts and you've got this pillow it is super strong it's like um it's like a nice sort of.

Soft mesh material so it's super like ah on your face we are pretty much here until i run out of battery power on the gopro i've got no phone reception out here we've got absolutely no food so it's pretty much you me and the big blue ocean we've got to go provide ourselves some food.

For the next couple of days i'm not sure how long we'll be here for so i've got a handful of gopro batteries and um i've got a little power bank which i can probably get a couple of charges out of maybe so we're here for maybe one day two days three days four days if the batteries could push through.

But um that's enough talking i'm gonna go collect firewood set up a little bit of a fire and then we'll start fishing to get some dinner because we've got a couple of hours before that sun's set so i'll see you guys with my flicking lures on my way in here when i was on the bike on the scooter on the way in.

Here there was a guy i met a local guy on the track and he said he's been here for three days and over the last three days he caught no fish so i was kind of like ah don't tell me that bro but yeah he said um no fish in three days so.

We'll see if we can uh get a fish hopefully we can get a fish i'm gonna starve if we don't get fish for three days so see how we go how sick this little hut that he's built how cool is this little thing so when it gets really hot because it's wet season it gets super hot during the day.

So the local guys they build these little huts and i think it's fallen over but usually it should be sitting up like this and they'll sit in here and that's like oh don't fall over that's what they use for shade during the day because obviously there's no there's nothing out here to keep you.

From the sun so it's pretty sick that's what i use for shade and that's our little tent look at him sitting out there she's windy all right let's start flicking some lures i'm frothing i yeah here we go first cast long time long time where's the long tom.

Come on big boy second cast on the light gear oh what have we got here you're joking man that was legit second cast so i've just i've got pe two gear here so i don't know what this is how am i gonna get this up man what have we got.

Oh that is beautiful that is beautiful it's a barracuda and i've got no uh steel trace on there so what is it a little barracuda oh baby that is a beautiful fish man that doggies second cast barracuda and that is beautiful eating size.

Don't do that all right how am i gonna get this fish up here we go again we've got this dilemma let's go good fish good fish be nice be nice come on man these rocks are razor sharp here we go this is where we're gonna have to bring him up.

Actually i'm gonna go down there come on come on stay on stay on baby please stay on i'm going down this is dangerous please no swell please don't come swell come on baby oh no oh i gotta go in here oh man if a wave comes we're in trouble come on come on.

Next next surge next surge come on baby come up on this one oh this is so rad man very exciting this is the one get him up get him up boom doggies we've done it second cast i gotta get out of here now before oh [ __ ].

Oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] oh this is very dangerous where i am right now if a big wave comes around that corner we're done so i'm getting out of here beautiful beautiful barracuda look at the colors in him so shiny and silver still that is second cast of the day.

Perfectly hooked him you can see why these fish bite through your line check out those teeth man incredible jaws very powerful fish we just got him on pe2 gear second cast i can't believe this second cast man beautiful so i'm going to actually keep this fella he's going to be dinner and breakfast.

And i'm going to try to somehow preserve the rest of the meat i'm not too sure how i'm going to do it yet but i definitely don't want any to go to waste but man that's a beautiful fish second cast doggies absolute frog town look at him he just belted that lure all right i'm gonna put this guy to sleep we'll bleed him and we'll um.

We're fishing for fun now we've got dinner so anything else we catch it's going to be catch and release purely fun bro froth is real second cast man there he is come on come on hit hit it hit it hit it we got it you're joking.

What oh we foul hooked it no way have a look at this so this is a long tom you guys have seen these before we've got him in the tail but look at his mad little mouth get this hook out of him just fell out again this liver's on fire there we go we got a little long time hey slippery little sucker they got mad.

The maddest teeth on them look at this it's like a this is a really small one hopefully tomorrow we'll try to catch one of these but a big dog that's another lovely little fish awesome color damn we're on fire right now we'll get this little guy back.

And we'll uh keep flicking be free you beautiful little thing it's like a pencil eye off he goes here we go welcome to the field day kitchen all right so i've just ripped the scales off this fish so usually i skinner fish but because we don't really have a nice flat surface.

And this thing is like super blunt now this like mini machete this thing's also super blunt so it's uh doesn't make life easy but what i'm going to do just get the phillips off this fish first and then we'll bag them up and i'll try to do something i'm not sure what i'm going to do so this fish is way too big.

For me to eat like to eat all of this fish tonight it's it's just too big for one person so what we'll do if somebody comes down like if the locals come down here and they want to um yeah if they come down and they're fishing man i'll just give them half of this fish what we can't eat and if no one.

Comes down i'm just going to be forced to get on the scooter and we're just going to have to go find ice like that's the only thing because i really don't want to waste a beautiful fish like this like i really hate killing fish and then not actually eating them you know so.

We'll uh rip the fillets off this and we'll make a decision but man look at this meat beautiful white meat very nice this is gonna be good man look at this that is one beautiful piece of fish so fresh like maybe this fish is pushing half an hour old like man that is a beautiful fresh piece of.

Fish nice glowing meat like the meat's got that nice rainbow color to it very very nice i kind of wish that old guy that old guy that i met on the way here i wish he came back because he's been fishing here for three days and he's got no fish.

He hasn't even got a fishing rod he uses like a bamboo pole so i would love to see him again and i'd give him the rest of this fish like this is all we need i literally only need that for dinner like that's all we need and i'd give him the rest so i can absolutely love that but unfortunately.

He had enough and he went home so we'll see what we can do with this fish anyway i'm gonna make sure that none of this goes to waste i really hate wasting fish so good i keep these bags inside that black backpack all the time and they're coming in hand they actually come in handy a lot.

Like when it rains i put my phone and gopro batteries in them they're just really good bags all right so we got our fish now let's do a little bit of um investigation and when i whenever i catch a fish i love to see what's in its stomach and like to see what they've been eating so we'll get inside this.

Guy's stomach see what he's been eating because it actually really interests me to see what these bad boys eat so let's have a look that's the fish's stomach there and it is just it's empty there is nothing inside at all so that's probably why he came up.

And hit that lure with so much force but we've got a little set of fish wings these are really nice so that's probably going to be entree tonight a couple of fish wings and i'll um try to get a little bit more meat off his body and then the rest of this will just go in the water look at this that's.

Breakfast lunch dinner breakfast lunch dinner that's sorted for two days so um i reckon what i'm gonna do we'll just i'm gonna pack up i'm gonna pack up all the fishing rods put everything back into my bag jump on the bike and we're gonna do a mission to try to find ice to keep this fish.

Fresh because like i said i really don't want it to go to waste it's way too beautiful and fresh i don't want to be killing fish for no reason so um let's go it's the new mission is to find ice if we can find ice man i can stay here literally until the gopro batteries run out so.

This is our next mission if we can get ice we're on if we're not we'll go give this to some local people actually don't i won't put my rods there i know that i'm going to put the hook straight through the new tent all right guys i will go and try to find ice and i will see you.

Whenever i see you this could take an hour this could take three hours but i really want to go find ice so um i'll see is back here whenever i get ice yo.

 so  so all right we found a couple of people to set to um share some fish with so we're gonna give him a slab of barracuda beautiful one for you you can have one.

Give him one hi there you go sir thank you sir yeah thank you all right i need to go get some ice do you know where i can find ice no all right we'll keep trying to find ice they're fropping this is so sick i'm just going to drive around and give fish to people.

Boy this is going to get slippery that's um that's so cool man i just seen those two guys they were farming one old guy and his son and i was like oh you want some fish bro and they're like hell yeah so i gave him some fish so we have four pieces of fish left.

Which is still so i can't eat that much for dinner so if we don't find ice we'll just keep handing fish out and if we find ice we'll keep it and that's gonna be our food for the rest of the day look at this sloppy pig's pig [ __ ] spot one hand driving here we go that was.

Easy all right cue the music  that was a mission all right that was that was an absolute mission so we were actually gone for a couple of hours nearly two hours just and trying to find.

Ice and uh were we successful yeah yes and no i'll show you guys what we got it's uh yeah yeah it'll work it'll do that was the full-on ice mission it was actually pretty fun those tracks are super slippery so if it rains it's going to be a mission getting back up some of these hills that i come down.

Actually i was just thinking about it but anyway we got ice this is my like bag where i keep the um gas cooker inside so inside here we don't really have ice but i found this beautiful beautiful old lady in this tiny little shop on the side of the road.

And she gave me a frozen can of cool drinks so that's like frozen rock hard nice and cold and then she gave me this frozen drink as well which has got sticky [ __ ] all over it but um man that should be enough if i keep it closed just to keep a chill on the fish for the next obviously for tonight and maybe.

Tomorrow so we gave two pieces of fish to those two dudes and they were absolutely fizzing and the rest of it well now we can eat because we've got ice so look at this man this is living that sun is just about to pop its head down she's just about to show her face this should all nicely light up orange i'm.

Hoping and then it's going to disappear so um i think i'm just going to chill now i'm not going to go fishing on the ledge it's um a little bit windy i'll just chill here i'll make set up my fishing gear for tomorrow and then uh i suppose i'll check back in with you.

Mad dogs when we're cooking dinner so i'll see you then oh we've got a nice little fire going here i've had a couple of minutes just to sit back enjoy the scenery that sun it never ever went pink it's sort of like a little bit of color over here but um.

Way too cloudy way too overcast for a nice sunset so we uh swapped up the sunset with a nice orange fire so got our fire pump and these coals are going to go down real good that's a big drive root off a tree very hard to find uh materials around here.

But here this is going to be my kitchen table don't really have anything so this is the fish i'm going to eat tonight hi big dogs got to eat so much fish there um this is a little bit of flour i've no idea what this is it's some seasoning that i found at the shop a couple of.

Days ago no idea but um i bet you that's gonna taste good looks like it's meant for chicken but that's all good so what we'll do we'll um start cutting this fish up into little cubes ah this is the little mini fish wings this is such a nice part of the fish bang bang bang all right that's the last.

Piece of fish cut up chuck it all in we'll see how this chicken coating flower goes i seal the deal perfect perfect cooking coal so sometimes when you put your pan directly on top of the coals it'll like smut the coals out.

Because the coals underneath they don't get that air to breathe so sometimes what a good trick is you'll get a you can get two sticks like this you run them sticks along the top of the coals and then uh you get your pan this pan's bloody hot because i just did.

Exactly what i'm explaining to you i just put it on top of the coals and uh it was no good so get your pan now you level them out so those coals under there they're getting oxygen so they can stay hot and that oil is gonna burn baby she's gonna go up real quick oh man i'm excited about this.

  have a look at that it's the last little bit of sunlight just about to go away beautiful blue color sky and down here well we've got the second batch on here's the first batch looking golden brown and delicious and here is the uh.

Second one  you can do yeah you'll be right this is what i'm excited for the wings of the fish they're so good all right it's the moment of truth so i had to chuck the um fish into the pan here because the ants were getting a super super free feed.

There were ants all over that rock so uh man this is fresh beautiful crispy that seasoning is so good what i'm really excited about is that fish wings are so yum these are by far the smallest fish wings i've ever eaten but um they're gonna be good man so i'm just.

Gonna sit here now doggies i'm gonna chill have a hell night and then i'm in the morning we'll see what happens fresh barracuda so good mmm really good um oh.

Oh man it's 6 56 in the morning so it's like seven o'clock in the morning and i just seriously i just woke up usually i wake up at like 4 45 or 5 o'clock when i'm doing these missions because i'm just having the worst sleep ever like i'll wake up before the sun but.

This morning we've had a hell of sleeping so uh man that was that was it's a game changer so comfortable such a nice sleep all right you know what time it is at that mate that water is pretty much good enough for me to have a coffee so uh.

You know what time it is it's that time it's the best time of the morning get a little bit of coffee in there let's not be scared all right we'll bang this off oh wow half's on the look rock that hi oh honestly man coffee in the morning best way to start the day so i just went.

For a walk down there and there's two local guys fishing already so they've got no fish again but um it'll be sick if we get a fish today we can hook them up with a fish we'll just give them the full fish because they use like bamboo sticks and it's like full primitive way of fishing so it'd be really nice to hook them up with.

Some big fish so hopefully we get something good um i'll show you guys the lures that we're using today all right so this here is just a 60 gram popper so that's sort of for your bigger fish hopefully i'm wanting to get like some gt.

With that and then this one is the storm slow run so that's the lure that we were using yesterday and um this is a really good lure like i get a lot of fish on that storm slow run i think it's like 30 gram and this one's 60 grams so uh yeah that's us we'll be down there flicking lures all entire day.

Did i actually just say all entire day i meant the entire day so i suppose i'll try to save the batteries that i've got and i'll only hit record if we hook up to a fish so i'll see you guys and we've got tight lines and bent rods ew all right the struggle is absolutely.

Real right now so it's um 12 12 and nothing i've been flicking lures i've been putting soft plastics on the bottom poppers on the surface little stick baits on the surface nothing so i've been fishing like the bottom i've been fishing the top.

Pretty much since 7 30 this morning and um man it is dead like why it's not dead a couple of big long time have been coming up and hitting the lure but they're not obviously getting hooked because they're long time so i could put the little um little cotton lures on and probably get a couple of long time but i don't really want long.

Time i'd love to get like a gt or something but it's just dead there's nothing happening there's a couple of local guys fishing they're not getting anything either so i found this little ledge down here so underneath this ledge here is this like epic platform of reef and this is where i want to go i want to.

Go down here and kind of like just scavenge around see if we can find some snails some shells to eat maybe some oysters this obviously all gets covered with water on the high tide so um it's got to watch out for incoming waves but it's pretty flat today let's get down there see if we can have.

A feed of oysters what is this thing man that's like a homemade spear gun dude no why what is this this is the most genius whoever made this is obviously a local in indonesian person whoever made this is an absolute genius man.

Look at this right this is this is what it is this is it's insane they've got like a nail with a tiny little barb on the end they've stitched that in there with really light fishing line they put a split in the wood you insert this into here this is this is crazy.

So as you insert that in there you've got this rubber band here with this little bit of fishing line see that little looper line there that little loop of line gets connected onto that little hook they've made and then obviously it slides back that clicks this little notch here gets.

Caught on there and that there is a loaded mini i wouldn't call it a spear gun but watch it man it's actually in this is a genius so obviously if they're hunting small crabs like that little floating bit of crab shell there you click this down.

And it shoots out that's i love this kind of stuff man that's really smart all right back to our oyster mission but that is a very very smart little gadget whoever made this it's good to remember things like this that's so sick all right we'll put that back where we.

Found it because um whoever made that he's an absolute bloody legend i wish i could leave a beer there for him as well all right let's get down there there's nothing to hold on to oh [ __ ] i'm just hanging here  oh baby.

That's a big oyster look at that so good oh i'll be here for the next three hours if you want to find me bush oh my god look at this it's just very important if you're ever doing this kind of thing like down at a low level like this.

Just keep an eye on the ocean because it is so unpredictable you want you never know when there's a big swell coming or a king wave or a set man it'll mess you up if a wife comes in now and comes crashing over this reef always it's good just keep an eye on the ocean but look at this big ball of snot oh my god man.

So nice okay so if you ever want to open an oyster you'll see it has a little lip at the front here and that's open it's only about a mil or half a mil open but you can see that gap there you've got about one second before you disrupt the shell before the muscle tenses up and that closes so usually.

You can get any kind of knife you've got to be kind of quick my hands are probably in the way but if you can get it in there in time you'll be able to open it up before the muscles condense of the oyster and it's actually they're quite easy to open but.

If that muscle condenses and that shell closes well it's an absolute mission to get way to get your delicious snot out of it look at it beautiful snot oh slippery snot as if we're not going to go and investigate this cave right now definitely don't want to fall down there.

But um ah look at this bro that is what i'm talking about wow it's beautiful in here it's not hot at all this is what i needed to find right now super slippery have a go at this cave man it's off its head it's actually really sick you can tell.

That on the high tide water comes up here this is like super slippery very very like fresh wheat you can tell this is usually wet on the high tide but i mean she goes all the way back there man that's pretty epic it's like a little baby tunnel.

I love [ __ ] like this i would love to stay here if the tire didn't come up so high oh that is so good oh wow  that's beautiful man all right i suppose we'll um we'll keep fishing eye.

It's all we've been really good we've had a i just ate about no [ __ ] i had about 20 to 30 hours no not that many 15 to 20 oysters so um that's filled the little hole that i had in my stomach i was gonna go cook some of that fish up but man it's it's just way too hot to be starting to fire or even using the gas cooker right.

Now so those always still get me through and um i'm just gonna go back and keep flicking lures so um i'll see you guys if we hook up yeah if we ever hook up about another hour and a half has passed no one's getting any fish so i've got those three phillips of fish up here.

And one of the local boys who is leaving his hell devil that he got no fish so um i'm gonna run up here man i'm tired i'm gonna run back up here and give him a slice of that barracuda from yesterday because um it is so hot out here it's um probably turning to [ __ ] in that esky so we might as well.

Hand it out this side yeah thank you thank you thank you thank you brother good luck next time see you next time take care it's actually surprisingly amazing that that fish has been in that bag since pretty much.

This time yesterday with a frozen drink i'm chewing on a bit of fishing line i nearly swallowed it with two frozen drinks and that's it and that fish is still fresh it's not fresh but it's still chilled so um that's pretty interesting i thought it would have been going mushy as hell by.

Now but it's uh it's still good so i gave one piece to that guy and then there's another dude one guy there's one local guy left down here and he's screaming at me now wait give me some so i've got one piece for him and i've got one piece left for myself.

So it kind of works out good the fish doesn't go to waste i get dinner tonight and um those boys will get dinner as well because right now there is nothing happening on these rocks so i'm just going to keep fishing man i'm just going to keep fishing.

My batteries aren't looking too happy i got to put them on charge but um that's all good all right let's keep flicking all right so i'm on the way back for the second fish delivery of the day this bloke's been fishing for so long he's got nothing i just lost a big long time off the.

Rocks and um man it's hard going right now hard fishing yeah yeah so hot there's no fish today yeah i'm going to cook it on the fire yeah it's good for dinner yeah yeah okay thank you bro be safe yeah yeah bye maybe i'll see you next time in.

Because my girlfriend went to get the covered test today where you get the thing up your nose and swab up your nose so i'll go see how she's going and then we'll um we'll go from all there all right so our plans have changed a little bit this is our very last piece of fish so.

It'd be so rude not to cook him up it's looking bloody beautiful um i just went ran up the hill got some phone reception spoke to my chick she just got a stick stuck up to her nose pierced her brain she reckons so um she's got to go do it she's traveling for a little bit so she needs.

To go and um obviously get the cover test and um while i got the phone reception i got a message from my andy and he said tomorrow he wants to go and fish probably the most psycho-popping area in indonesia but around this part of indonesia anyway so he said the books the boat is booked for.

2 30 tomorrow morning so i was like i'm i'm on a different island he's like get your ass back to bali so i'm going to leave the video here pack everything up um i'm pretty sure i can get an afternoon boat from this island back to the main island and then in the morning i'm going to set off on another.

Fishing trip hopefully fit chasing the big dogs so um doggies it was a mad little trip we tested out the tent we got a fish today was very hard going but um man it was a good time and uh i guess i'll see you guys in the next video when we're fishing for them big dogs so um.
