Hey folks how you doing Joe here I'm with Wolfie we're about to go meet up with Tosh and we're gonna do our first canoe trip of the Season Tosh was kind enough to stop by uh Swift on his way here and grab me a boat a new canoe um Swift was gracious enough to give me a canoe at Cost.

Uh not a swift canoe they don't offer really white water boats so I got a different brand and uh they sell it and they were gracious enough to give it to me so I'm really brand loyal to Swift I want everybody to know that so Swift Swift swift they just don't make the exact boat I wanted but they hooked it up with that one anyways I do want to.

Take a second to say I really wish Cooper was still around uh Tasha's dog is no longer with us he was a great dog I really liked him and the whole plan was to get wolfy and Cooper together and Cooper to teach Wolfie how to be a good boy but rip rip Cooper great dog and uh they go too young.

There she is  good good to see you look at that green Beauty up there it's a big old booger offsets that horrible red there we go the Open Water shallow already we're not coming down this far though.

Just waiting on Joe no we go up a little tiny bit more if we can oh pretty sure it's very shallow it's very shallow touch all right we're going to see if we can put in here you gotta find a spot for the truck too yeah shallow but it deepens up right there you can see there we go we can put in on that.

Little pool and then off we go off we go  all right we got the frost back there all loaded up I'm gonna have to pull it down uh that incline of snow come on it's uh it's a little deep it's a little deep.

It's this way buddy come come I gotta get him down here and tied up because even on the way here we stopped for him to go to the bathroom and he didn't want to come back for quite some time just very annoying so we're gonna get him down here tie them up and that way and get the boats down without.

Too much problems hopefully okay we made it to the river that was an ordeal there's the bridge oh foreign relax good thing about these T4 Max boats.

Just like dirt just like Royal X are very durable I am sweating yo horrible never even seen those boats never even seen the water seen some snow though you know seeing some snow.

All right let's go that way then that's fine that's fine too  feeling cried a little bit I hope we'll get them off leash as soon as we get away from the road he can run next to the canoe on the shore for a while for all I care boy.

 probably should have picked this up yeah I did the same thing thank you oh come on what pretty early in the year here it's April 15th ish none of the lakes are open but as you can see.

First canoe trip of the year well we're gonna let this guy run and burn off some energy because he's in the car for a couple hours this morning and then right into the canoe so let's let them go and he'll run against the shore and hopefully stay with us come back when he's ready.

Nothing good I'm just looking for a spot to camp tonight it's about four o'clock we're away from all the highways and Roads and trails and everything we're on this like secluded spot the most uh remote spot on the river at least this section of it so looking for a spot so we can camp and wolf can run around how does that look.

Oh it is just an island  you want to go check it out it's pretty snowy is this July August it's uh it's super hot we pulled up to a uh a potential Camp spot there's no campsites along the river here we've got to make our own but this is the most.

Flat we could find we have to get up away from the river a little bit as well because it's Dam controlled it's good because wolf you can swim in here it's pretty open there's icebergs floating by there's a little inflow here we're gonna go up on the bank and clean out some trees and stuff and make a flat spot so you can camp comfortably.

Thing off Wolfie what are you eating bro very hot no bugs there's only a couple days like this a year foreign a few of the Dead limbs around underneath it remember hey buddy.

 hey buddy we're going to be testing out a new tent on this trip I really like the company nor tent you've seen me use a couple of different tents the koi or the koi and the gam we got a brand new one this trip we're just a one man but it has a side entrance with a big.

Vestibule and a lot of room for Wolfie this is the tent here we'll get it set up together   this is a different style tent than I've ever had before has one pull some pegs and then two.

Integrated poles little ones that stay attached to it that's a little bit for me to use to I've only set this up once just in the backyard to test it out they're not true Real Fashion just one spot for the pole to go in as opposed to other tents where you have to cross them over just one I believe there is a secondary pull you can buy for extra.

Stability but I'm sure I'm not gonna need it especially today Breeze or a cloud in the sky we've got our one side staked down I'm gonna go over to the other side and do the same are you like blowing up that mat it's not gonna stand up too quickly the ground is frozen underneath a little.

Bit of leaf litter here so I have to pound it in with the ax which I don't normally have to do ever you always see that in like old school camping things using the ax to pound stakes in which I've never really had to do  boy.

And this side goes in easily and of course because I said that this side goes in nice and easy with no hounding required look at that  I thought you were cooking dinner oh that's right all right so this is called the Vern one.

It's got a little bit of wire on here where you can kind of pop out the um vent or push it in it's got tie outs everywhere a little open and see there's an inner tent and outer tent the pull rings are glow in the dark I actually got to put a mistake right.

Here oh I could do that right now okay I really like the um the door Keepers on this it's got a cinch so a lot of times when you put the door in or roll it up and put it on like this it gets loose after a while but with this one cinch it right down it stays tight pretty slick.

There's a fly line in them I had a spider on me the other day so it tapers at the ends it's also got ventilation that you can open up at the ends that's got enough room in here for me and Wolfie and uh I can actually take this inner tent right out and it'll be much bigger but there's no point because bugs bug season is right around the corner.

This up even more you can open up the second door is there enough room for me to get in if it starts raining there's not even enough room if I wasn't in there thank you it's not meant for grown men no that's a grown ass Toshi guys it's like it's nice I like the.

Double vented door oh I see that's a huge vestibule huge vestibule yes it's just a one-man inside but you got all this extra room for your gear what uh what have you you know if you ever go camping and you have stuff just put it there.

Wow make stuff there's an extra pole that you can I can feel my arm now dude oh I can see it it's burnt I must be burnt too though both my arms are you're left more so someone's on that side don't burn ly that's my good boy.

We've been sitting here shooting the breeze for I don't know half an hour at least Wolfie was going for quite a bit and now he's just ko'd which is so awesome to see the uh letting them run on the side of the short oh did you just split your back nope I had.

Gum on my lap and then it must have went down into my crotchal areas and now I got a sticky crotch anyway so as I was saying ah back to the yeah having him run around on the shore there was awesome he really enjoyed it I liked seeing him there and burned a bunch of his energy out.

First canoe trip of the year I'm just gonna try to get the rest of the gum out of my crotch now comfortable in there bud good boy went in there on his own yeah the tent looks so wide but it's it's all vestibule there no there's not no.

That's right okay still just chilling out eh all right oh Tasha's taking a little nap I'm just out uh paddling across the shore from our camp let's see our camp over there and Wolfie is content to lay in the tent so all is well I'm just gonna take a.

Couple casts there's some Rapids down there I can hear oh it's an inflow let's go fish at the inflow there's another excuse me another River coming in go check that out such a beautiful little river here we're on the lower half of the mississaugi.

It's a very light lure casting into the wind here yeah it's super shallow something all right that's a lot of water coming in here I'll go back I see Tasha's got up and he's starting to collect some firewood so we'll go back and help him.

 thank you found some birchburg did you it's almost a little damp because it was laying on the ground but I think it's gonna go good looking dog walking along the shore right yeah he looks proud yeah.

Though the way this can be oh yeah he gives you his butt that's what he does Tasha's night to cook supper tonight and he's promised me something fun what did you call it they are making walking tacos that's.

Right walking tacos talking walkos talk and walkos I was gonna chop up a bit of lettuce paddle break them up a little bit because then you don't get as many and I find it's easiest to split the bag this way uh.

Bridge-wise rather than length you don't want to crush trucks though no just open it up broken up a little bit a little smaller so they're not full size so it's a rocket science for Joe be back buddy stay back buddy so we go with a generous serving.

Of beef and we've got some lettuce in there a little bit of greenery oh which is generous take whatever you want there's only two bags all right it is green onions lettuce.

You're mixing it as you go or what I usually just kind of let it fall in okay okay oh cheese cheese Pico that pico de gallo is onions tomatoes and some kind of spice just helping of that in there  well.

So you already got your onions yep scoop of Glock on top  and oh same Fork don't matter a little bit of sour cream I should go get something to do this look I've never had guacamole in my life.

Really yo yeah shelter is right and I don't think that I've ever had sour cream either maybe I'll try a dollop a dollop of the creme de La Creme wow well thanks man this is gonna be amazing did you close it up for a while or is it.

Because uh is that food you got you've got anything to eat I'm starving disturbing here  what is it oh yeah there is a beef jerky in there but it's not for you it's not for you hey Wolfie Von fluffy pants.

 it's just ice Bud and we're about to go in the tent so uh maybe get out of the water what's the temp with these kids he can sleep with you in your cowboy roll if you want it's getting away Wolfie he's in no hurry to get out of that.

Water good boy walking taco it's a good player there's even that little um you were in kind of hike back off the Big Ten shoot there there's that stream that goes into the forest to the left of the no there's like a stream that comes into the river.

Basically if you're looking at that campsite just to the right of it and I always thought like you'd follow that in on your foot kind of it's all hardwood in there really really nice but I imagine there probably will be still some snow I think anywhere in the bush is still going to have quite a bit of snow.

Dude coming in today but like I I went the wrong way down that Portage Trail like there was like I didn't know which way to go it was a treat down trees everywhere so I ended up going and making this big like turn or whatever dude it was up to my hips a few spots I went through mine sunk right down trying to get my my.

Other legs yeah exactly I'm freaking almost Waist Deep dude yeah I had no shirt on hip deep snow all right it's bedtime we got uh Wolfie in here already  all right folks we'll get with you in.

The morning I'm sure we're gonna have a good night's sleep I'm pretty tired we got a full day of paddling again tomorrow so back with you then wish me luck and hopefully Wolfie doesn't rip a hole through this tent like he did with my own last fall.

Beautiful morning out here but this is a great reason for why you don't Camp right along the water line on a dam controlled River we woke up this morning to our middle fire pit is now submerged and the fries the frying pan we left here is now in four inches of water I'll cut a surprise the spatula is just.

Chilling yeah that's wild so we were sitting here you can see the the circle right there that's where our fire pit was last night and we were at least three feet from four feet from the water well plenty of we had tons of room to walk around here oh man well until the water came up.

Significantly in the night I guess I'm reaching in the water here well if you grab that pan for me bud we tied our boats up pulled them up high on Shore that's nice it's like ice because they open the dam up a little more or if that's just more melt water I don't know.

That's wearing my hat too hot well you can put a patch over this  thing  kind of hot oh you're a real dog now I enjoyed sleeping in this tent.

Uh there's the flat part here and then like the part that V's out at the back and Wolfie was able to lay it in that V part and be completely next to me I thought he was gonna have to sleep with my feet which he didn't want to do and I'm happy that he didn't have to do so all is well I got this blanket form.

Which I shouldn't have brought he doesn't need it and it is completely covered in wolf hair now we're gonna break down camp and get on the river we've got more to cattle today than we did yesterday to get to the spot where we left one of the trucks and we want to take it easy nice.

Leisurely paddle yep I like the tent happy with it always pleased with no tent I really like the one full system like I said you can buy a secondary Pole to put going Crossways if you need it but I don't live in the tundra in the highlands in the Moors or the.

Barren lands you know don't probably prefer Fort Hall come here bud come on there you go you know what it means eh time to go time to go good boy I'm super happy with how he's being on.

This trip um and I think he's enjoying himself he slept like a king yesterday all day since we got here by like four o'clock then he slept all night long which I was kind of concerned about but he ran like five clicks to shoot him up along the shore back and forth Full Tilt at some points hey bud.

One fluffy butt one floppy what Tosh already dosed the fire we're good to go it doesn't look like the water rose up too much since I put that stick in there no talk about a stable boat good boy hey good boy all right we'll just take it easy yeah.

That's a good dog that's a good dog take it easy for a bit another beauty day on the water hey bud oh that's my good boy we're gonna do some good Adventures this year I promise for the next 14 hours hey you drove you love it you drove 14 hours to get to be a rambling.

Yeah just call me a rambler man oh that's a good shot good boys good boys oh we're coming up on this longer stretch of moving water here nothing crazy but uh it's probably gonna be the longest stretch we're gonna hit some yesterday.

Nothing crazy though Wolfie set buddy stay this is wolves first trip in Rapids boy still using my double blade I'm more comfortable with this so far but.

Yesterday no shirt sunburn last night my water bottle froze there's freaking snow everywhere a little comfortable in t-shirts it's great no bugs fish aren't biting but I haven't really cast more than three or four times so I can't say much there you go.

Oh yeah just a little Ripple this little Ripple there Wolfie stay good boy look at this house spread across his legs are splayed out oh look at the big Cliff nice beautiful Beauty.

We just noticed this nice little sand beach or some footprints on it some probably wolf and pretty flat up in the back there and then not only that but then you'd have a view of this big rock and the sound of the Rapids nice Camp if I come back I might try to aim for that to sleep at I probably will come back every every.

Spring either this or The Little White River and because I can get into these way before the uh the lakes are open obviously you stay I can't see dude foreign 's okay man everything's okay.

 well we're coming up to the old Pig Pen shoots this is the takeout spot it looks very wide yeah the water's High I'm probably not going to run it Tosh Mike he's got a skirt on there but let's go scope it out yeah it's way too high we're not running that.

I ran those in the spring one year in the summer a bunch but never not this year it's it was way too much for me I'm gonna give this thing a wide birth go around all the chop and then we are done there's like it's all sorts of whirlpools here the water's boiling up.

And churning it's wild it's pushing my boat in every single Direction possible the times when I like to have a heavier boat here I like this boat a lot super happy with its test run super happy with the tent happy with the dog happy with the boat happy with my buddy Tosh.

Happy with the weather happened canoes and Buddies kernels and Buddies okay go out go good boy from the oh yeah yeah no doubt that was wild right at the end for a you're right a.

About the skirt too like the boat was underwater so and that would have already scooped up in about a second I gotta get him the roads up there I said I gotta get him the roads up there all right back on the trail trying to get back to the car.

Got some deep snow to go through some deep snow to go through and lots of heavy loads and heavy boats and Uphill both ways six miles to school got Wolfie already oh situated in the truck he was more than happy to go do that all right.

As you can see we've already made the trip a couple times oh well we got mine up and got all the gear up we're gonna leave Tasha's there because there's no sense of putting on this truck just to take it off and drive back past here so leave it there he can.
