I see tasha's truck so that's a good start we're going to meet up with toshi boy and go conquer that river that i spilled in oh there he is what's up how's it going awesome how are you all right we're gonna go uh not fall in the river we'll try not to perfect you buddy yeah.

Nice all right all right let me turn around i'll follow you all right so since we've got two vehicles two canoes we're doing a linear trip josh is driving behind me we're gonna drive to the takeout spot where we're going to finish our trip in a couple days and we're going to leave my vehicle there we'll switch out the canoe and all.

The gear we'll check out this cool waterfall that's there and we'll leave my car there we'll hop in tosh's drive up another hour however long it might be to get there leave his vehicle there at the put in and then start our trip i've got a different boat a little bit.

Better for white water i still haven't got my white water boat yet but i will be personally portaging anything i don't feel very confident in in running and then uh in a week i have my my course so that everything will be okay should be a-okay so anyways on to the trip.

 okay we good all right tash see you sometime bud it's uh it's moving so i can't wait for him it's just gonna we'll have to catch back up down here and a little eddie or something all right feeling good.

I had a few people asking me if i'd be worried about getting back in the river after that and know exactly the opposite i want to get back in as soon as possible get back on that bike so that's what we're doing and this time with the buddy so even better.

There he is there he's coming beautiful day early beautiful day early he says we're coming it's moving oh man why nice little sandy gravel bang.

Yeah jack pines overwear  like it's hard to even explain how clear the water is here i'll show you do it.

They put an eagle yeah in where's the movies tail hawk right there boom ah just like that there he is sick it's been a while since i saw one of those guys solving southern ontario all the time.

Snow on the banks i'm getting a sunburn here and there's snow oh it's rocks big old hill in the front just making our way down the river still put away the big camera not too long ago because i anticipate some rapids coming up.

How low can you go we can't all be as graceful as the gazelle this is that side trip i wanted to do up the secondary river um but as you can see it's still flowing i'm not moving anywhere i'm paddling and i'm getting pushed back.

Yeah so we're not going to with tasha's messed up knee we're not going to hike along the sides so we're just going to finish the river and then again this will have to be a secondary uh come back and do a secondary trip up here what i don't know what he's saying if you got.

A fish but anyways we'll come back and uh then do this part of the river maybe in the summertime i gotta go see what he's saying well we just pulled over have a little snack uh on this little gravel bank while we.

Had the chance to packing away all of our stuff because we know there's some rapids coming up so this is what i've got got my extra paddle lashed in my pack is attached to my boat got my tow rope safety kit this.

Is my day bag that's going to be attached in the front here as soon as you start going my paddle is going to be attached or sorry my fishing pole will be attached i've got my life jacket on no dry suit i just it's we'd probably be soaking in sweat if we had them on today but.

Anyways there's two of us we have changes of clothes we've got in reach everything's good so even if we dunk which hopefully we don't everything will be fine but i still will portage what i don't feel comfortable paddling through good boy.

Oh man that looks intense yeah it's bigger than i thought it was he says y'all it looks bad to me man looks bad to me i i know i can't yeah.

I'm really tempted to but because it's so long like it goes down quite a ways it keeps going yeah that's what's got me second guessing it because you make a mistake up here you get a long swim yeah you're riding it down yeah yeah i'll take a look farther down though yep all right tosh is man and up he's doing.

It we're gonna film him this is one of the sketchier spots in my opinion he doesn't seem to think it's so bad and that's good i'm glad to hear that i'm glad to hear that it's just my inexperience.

And this isn't even the one i dunked on  he's trying to go slow he says there he is right there oh man i'm nervous for him oh man nice nice.

Nice man slip fix it oh that's the worst of it he's passed so i'm gonna go down and try and catch up with them yeah i went through those stay cooper big time.

The water's pulling in my butt oh yeah i'm a whole undercarriage that was fun though i was kind of i i almost failed twice you saw that not not fell but almost took out yeah i thought you were working yeah well when you said don't do it yeah exactly so.

I made camp for the night tosh worked over fire real quick it's after six eh 6 36 i am filtering some water got a bunch of firewood  both pretty hungry so supper gone makeup camp.

This is the z packs duo med duplex duplex yeah so this is a two-person version of your tent and mine would be what do you know what it's called yours is the  oh soloplex maybe googleplex.

Suplex anyways it's carbon fiber so this is the two man and i have a simple one-man version of i haven't even opened it yet but i like like looking at tasha's i'm very very very interested in it cuban fiber very very lightweight was under a pound or something.

This one is i think just over like a couple ounces all right just like tent i will have to bust mine out soon enough because the bug season is right around the corner we're on borrowed time so again tasha's set up there there's the river i'm gonna go in.

Between these pines pine this spruce and set up the old hammock no tarp tonight   i think i am about as hungry as a little boy could be i even burned a future.

Oh it smells so good oh yeah buddy  nice enough to bring steak potatoes supper tonight and i will do drinking eggs in the morning that's right i can sleep in i'll probably be wide awake well supper was real good.

Thanks again to tosh bringing those steaks and potatoes and stuff was amazing i just hiked down a little bit aways from the camp cautions back to cooper there's a nice rock wall here it's a little congested but i thought i might come down and take a couple casts here and.

See   it's almost nine o'clock so we ran oh first pass first pass beautiful beautiful i was gonna say.

Before that brook trout rudely interrupted me that uh we ran some rapids today tosh way more than i did but i ran more than i did the first time we haven't come to the spot where i bailed yet last uh on the last trip we haven't come to the spot where i fell in so we're gonna see tomorrow how that.

Goes but the boat that i do have that i'm using today is way better for uh the white water it's it's handling it better and i'm able to kind of gauge off where tash is going to help myself out a little bit again i don't have much experience.

So a few days after i get back from this trip though i will be on my five-day whitewater new course or i will get experience   well it is time for bed.

Josh and i just chilled out by the fire for a while and it's almost 10. we're tired so good night sweet dreams and we'll see you in the morning  good morning had a great night's sleep.

It's uh roughly 7. tosh and cooper are getting up right now cooking up some bacons and we're going to have a good start for the day it's a different type of day than yesterday as you can tell it's very cloudy uh it seems like rain so.

If we were gonna tip in the rapids yesterday probably would have been the day to do it but we're just not going to do that anyway so we'll be all right bacon's done with the eggs you want yours on a wrap i got two wraps you want yours on a wrap with the breakfast wrap thing or.

All right we are in business you go buddy gotta get one for cooper you know got some cheese on this too that's one of these bad boys up  potatoes.

Okay the big cameras have been put away everything's getting strapped down we got rapids just around the corner just over yonder so the first set i ran last time.

The second set around the bend is when i bailed so my goal for today if i feel safe enough if i feel confident enough is to run that set of rapids then i will have revenge on the river and everything will be right in joe's world but we'll see there's three sets there's the first i ran the second i build on and then there's one.

Right behind it and then there's a break and then there's a set and then there's an actual waterfall so we'll definitely be sure to stop the waterfall and show you guys everything we own the motor it was an interesting interesting put in got my heart pumping already.

Oh man i really don't want to go swimming today yes those are bad waves all right tash and i just scoped out the rapid what do you think i think it's doable what do you think about the spot where i fell in i wouldn't want to swim what you swam.

Swimmingly swimmingly when it goes right you want a fish i guess it's uh it's pretty shallow anyway yeah me too it's all sand eh yeah buddy  i am elated that went pretty well i should shut the line the whole way down.

Dude might you follow me i had to follow you i wouldn't hit it my um my front of my canoe i'm not joking i was like at a 45 degree what boom we're just portaging around horsepowering around the waterfall right now it's substantial small for a waterfall size but certainly.

Can't go down it in the boats so well at the bottom it's a pretty nice little chill spot so i think we're going to take a little lunch break there do some fishing and chill out yo.

There's tosh caution cooper a little tight in here beautiful squad not going to get right think of it this color is unreal it's like a metallic blue very very very picturesque in here.

I'm having a great time this is a great day a great trip  now look what i just found poor guy this is probably the third one of these fourth one i in found life.

Oh yeah it stinks it stinks okay we're gonna get out of bloated here everything poor guy our girl no antlers so who knows though who knows these days well our lunch break is over we're back on the river.

Just leaving now this turkey vulture is circling this moose so you just know he can smell that from a mile away those guys are uh scavengers for carrying and other words that make me sound like i know things so.

Anyways we're going to continue on on this great paddle adventure well i think we're past most of the white water for the most part at least sorry i just peeled off my protective coating that's been on there for a hot minute anyway um.

Yeah just sitting in this really cool area there's like a dome half dome freaking rock in front just nice day chilling out so not sure what's gonna happen today see how far we get but like i said i think the white water is done for the most part and we.

Conquered the river i ran way more than i did the other time i ran everything that i felt comfortable doing and some that i didn't feel i was kind of apprehensive about but it all worked out um you know what i want to do i want to buy a white water kayak as well like just a.

Stubby kayak a creek boat or something and come up in here because it's only a couple hours for my house come up here and spend some time practicing and learning like i could take my my bike and and that that kayak and and my truck and shuttle myself back and forth and do runs of the the white water and work.

Myself up to the to the big ones that touched it but who knows maybe at this uh whitewater canoe course i will end up buying a kayak if they have a used one for sale or something but i think that's what i'll do um just when i really like this stuff it's fun it's it's very um engaging there's a lot of adrenaline.

It's the most fun i've had in a boat in a long time and look at the scenery you can't beat it birds are singing got this guy over here it's gorgeous gorgeous it's huge massive sand bank there.

Now we got a little swift here we could pass a couple recently it was a surprise but i like it it's a welcome surprise gets us moving a little bit quicker a little bit of movement in the water is never a bad thing  oh it just keeps getting bigger i was.

Just looking at my camera i couldn't tell it's rugged epic this is epic  right there ice up there in the valley.

Just wild epic epic  we've been paddling all day we start around eight in the morning it's four now we just look looked on the map and we think we're like less than an hour away from the take out where we put left uh my truck yesterday.

So we planned two nights for this trip but we really did it in one night in two full days so instead of bailing and going home we're going to get out to the truck and drive back to tasha's truck and we're gonna camp out up uh we're gonna drive down and find a cool spot and camp out of some crown.

Land next to the trucks tonight we'll uh definitely take you along with us this has been the weather has been everything today it's sunny right now i can feel it on i got a sunburn on my arms look at the difference i'm not trying to show off my guns you know just just a sunburn i don't want to.

Embarrass anybody with these freaking pythons but yeah it's been a great trip man good company super happy to have run that those rapids and concrete the river we're just gonna call us now get out and uh set up camp on a comfortable.

Flat area i'll probably sleep on the ground tonight this is the end of our paddling there's a huge waterfall just that way with a bridge there but it seemed like a safer takeout right here i think so i think this was the better option yeah.

Let's not mess up the trip at the end it's not a flip in the last 100 years so i'm hiking down a couple of roads right now to get back over to my truck then i'm going to drive back down and pick up tash and cooper load the canoes on top and then uh.

Head out to his truck and camp out again tonight man i know i said it already but holy smokes i'm happy really really happy about this trip everything went swimmingly and i didn't go swimming all right.

Load it up find somewhere to sleep all right all right so we're driving down this little path it used to be it used to be a trail now i think it's downgraded to a path um trying to find a spot to camp for the night.

Trying to make our way down to the river and find a good spot i think i might have lost josh back here back there who knows let's see oh my i don't even think we're at the river oh no oh that didn't panic.

Oh my god oh this looks great to me i'm happy here man sold this is alright with over the view here this is yeah i love this what's that you want to see what's up there yeah i know what's up there it's it's a dead end this i've been up here a bunch of times okay this is slicker over here.

I think okay yeah it's a nice view over the river it's awesome okay hopefully you don't need water yeah we got we got beer overlander look at those beauties found on real.

Destinations get yourself a puppers all right buddy give it a good trip cheers man yeah hell yeah good time lots of fun how's your puppers not bad it's not an ipa thankfully.

Choose one making you better all right camping off the truck tonight nice all right not too shabby now we're able to scrounge up some wood tasha's gonna get this bad boy going.

I don't think it's gonna take much to light that up northern fire look at this fat what we found say we i didn't have much to do with it other than i was in the general area so humble todd gonna make up some good fire.

Some orangey flames oh yeah love it i think he's gonna roll off the edge of that freaking he's gonna go man he's going cutting it close big guy hey coop.

Where's your stick get it he's gone come on he's got the same one he had come on good boy good stick okay beautiful night the peepers are out.

Fires going nice got some entertainment you find [ __ ] oh wait a minute i found it i found a chair stole the chair pushed me off he was like a little sh get off this chair just getting ready for bed here.

Might be able to hear the thunder in the distance it's been thundering and lightning on and off so happy to set up this tarp for sure there you go there's the thunder when the rain is starting to hit the tarp that will make me fall asleep.

Very quick perfect engine is great trip nothing i like more than sleeping under a tarp in the rain knowing i'm nice and protected and you know what i don't even have to get up and do anything tomorrow except for drive home so it's pretty slick.
