Fort that you have seen this year or this winter I was concerned we had an ice we had a slush storm everything turned to ice I was really concerned about the tarp what would have happened I can feel that there is ice underneath and I'll show you that here when I when I fix it all up let's walk her on the back I was really.

Concerned about it caving in and breaking the the tarp it looks like it's okay and inside looks dry and there's no snow today I have a couple projects I want to do yeah should we productive day  so it's negative fight there's a rope there it's negative five degrees Celsius.

Outside right now and I forgot my gloves at home it was a very hectic morning getting out of the house and the kid off to school the wife off to the doctor's appointment dog all that stuff I forgot my gloves but that's okay we will build a fire and we will be fine okay well snow has not punched through the slush has not punched through nor.

Has the ice which is all very good signs what do you think dog oh yeah we got to get this cleaned off and fixed up I always have like three pairs of gloves in my car at my truck but I took it in to get it fixed at the dealership I took all my stuff out anyways this is all ice I'm surprised this hasn't given given weight yet so it's just a thin layer ice.

It's still alright let's do this  okay mostly God stubborn ice okay no this is real saggy and you can see that but the beauty of the way I set it up is that I can recoup retightening it and it's not going to ever I don't think it's going to ever break especially.

Seeing after how it's acting with all this weight on it is that taut line hitch so when the weight comes on here it pulls it just loosens instead of pulling out the grommet will go tighten this up dog is full of snow yep so look you can see again taut line hitch how it's tied and showing that a million times.

Okay so I just gonna pull on this and it's gonna tighten up I want to show you the effect it has on the tarp what I can't pull this side any higher cuz it doesn't not stopping it I'm gonna switch this piece out for a better longer one piece there's three pieces of cord going across to make that distance anyway it's up enough right now.

Once I tighten that rope even higher but I do want to get a fire going with these hands hands too cold and too cold all right I want to get my backpack up off the ground I've wanted to do this for a while make a proper hook for it so that's what we're gonna do before we do anything else I know I said I want to get fire but that can wait a minute so I.

Want to take the finished part you can see here how like there can be a potential hook or a V or a Y so what I'm gonna do is cut it how tall I want it right about here there's a there's a bend in the wood so I'll cut it before that right and that'll be a long strong piece and then I just need a little hook part for the other piece so we'll cut it.

Shorter so that it has more strength to it all right and then the bag will hang right at the V at the notch and then for the where you cut it underneath you want to cut it right right very close to the bottom of the of the knot don't have to but it looks better that way all right now I'm gonna try to carve down the back or split down the back a little bit to.

Make it flush or actually I could put it in a crack in a crack of the the logs I'll show you what I mean here all right nice and strong so we can hold the weight of the backpack I believe I'll put a notch on it so that the Rope can hold on better but if I do that we put a rope through there bringing around here yeah that's fine and then.

This can sit in the crack it's kind of cool there we put up a little bit higher so my bag is yeah I'll put up much higher so my bags accessible okay let's get a little notch carved into this hang using a a a forge nomad pretty nice piece I'm going to put the notch almost at the top all the notches gonna do is.

Gonna stop the paracord from running up obviously it doesn't have to be anything substantial luckily I've kept my spirit cord inside pocket so it's easy to easy to access let's go for a darker color always have pieces of paracord always tied together crazy fashions you know when you're done a trip you don't really care to undo it.

Yet but the next time we do get out here we are camping rivers got his whole setup from uijik will usually queue outdoors he's got his sleeping pad he's got his top quilt so we'll probably drop the plastic down here make it one nice and warm here for him and myself should be a fun time but until then I want to have everything ready I want to get.

Here I can cut them in half or in thirds or leave them whole however high I want to get and I think I can sandwich I can cut this a bit sandwich it in against the wall I'm against both walls and then put this underneath like three of them underneath for support on the front and back and then I can put I can tie other pieces on top and then go one more on.

Top of there so that with long poles so that or even just middle poles so I can lay my pad on there whatever the case may be let's try that let's try that I'm excited with this idea I don't have to cut half as many poles this way okay so I want to do this so that it's still going to fit tight and I want it to be.

I'm gonna gain height that way as if I could put it underneath somehow I could I would have to put up another two more prop pieces that's what I'll do so behind these prop pieces no that's not gonna work yeah okay they'll be shorter they'll be shorter prop pieces and then there'll be a piece that goes across this way that gets propped up underneath.

This log behind yep that makes sense I'll put four four pulp corners and then I'll tie the whole thing together that's what I'll do yep okay and then then I'll lay thin twigs or sorry thin thin logs or branches or whatever the case may be after after what I have finished doing it on top of that and.

They won't be sitting on top of here it'll be starting underneath here and become either coming even with this or hanging a little bit below and this will be creating like an edge for me on either side okay that works it's a little bit more work but I'm cutting down way less trees to do it with especially if I don't use logs for my.

Bed if I just use the tops of the trees that I've used and then some thin saplings and things like that I can lay that foam that I have over here are on that along with some boughs or my sleeping pad wherever whatever I feel like doing different different camps are different I want to do different things only once.

Have made the bed the same way that I made the the super shelter bed there be crisscross logs all underneath that and right there I have over a foot of space in between here and here plant and plenty more than a foot to store all my stuff so that's gonna be great tiny home style utilize the space that you do have put all our stuff away our new storage.

Container I think I'm gonna leave my green tarp out here as well I was going to make up another I had a plans of thoughts and making up another wall there if it was windy but there's no need but next time if it is or can't vote here doesn't hurt to have an extra one of those kicking around police is.
