Maybe do it i can do it i can do it why do it wrong uh that red lever zigged when i should have zagged holy clear water man that's caribbean clear dude so i feel like you did that on purpose yeah.
We certainly did well buddy we started this trip or what we're here oh yeah that's it there's only one way back you got your stick or what get your okay we've walked 50 feet so everything's fine we're not no fat no hey folks how are you old tasha boy and.
I are going to do a big hike we took uh what do you a shuttle yeah a boat shuttle you call it yeah with um oh what's it called it's uh north north shore adventures i think with nor i don't know we took a shot hang on let me see.
Damn it let's get the name right at least we got to get his name right north shore adventures north shore adventures which is a cool guy and he dropped us off at fisherman's north swallow harbor northwest coast north swallow place on lake superior we're going to do the pakistan trail we're going to have.
Some fun spend the next four to four days roughly out here and uh i can see some some amazing stuff what do you think the skier is already getting the hiker's starting halfway through or completing their epic adventure i want to have.
Shoes strapped to the outside of my backpack gypsy pack welcome to mosquito haven all sorts of bunch berries on the ground that's this one bunch berry crazy looking mom when is it joe it's the one that that's all over.
Punchberry do we cross man yes i'll take yours and get you coming yep yeah once you got over that first step or two it was fine beaver dam they've uh dammed up this whole stream in a pond.
Here or hiking by it i think it's up here it's pretty buggy here is it go up there oh it probably goes up there but i would assume around this away but i don't know it's pretty buggy though either way buggy now we assume this way.
Looks looks like this way so unlike most of the trails i've hiked the places i've been there's no uh trail markers there's a couple little rock cairns here and there but we've already been turned around once or twice yeah i don't know dude this might.
Not be it either yeah you might be right there's trees cut here well that's a good sign yeah not a beaver cut all right across the dam across the dam.
Damn this is seriously a lot of what wabakimi looks like just over here like this like mossy half blown down pretty nice pretty nice so this puckasaw coastal trail is in a similar spot to the coastal trail.
That doug and i did a few years back but i don't know how many hours north four hours roughly north of that and then like i said the boat shuttle to get over here was an hour i said it can take anywhere from an hour three hours depending on waves it's lake superior like tasha's.
Just up here last week or whatever on a trip and trying to paddle the coast and he couldn't even because of freaking 10-foot swells almost like just crazy crazy uh waves anyways so point is we're out here and it's a different field in that coastal trail.
Like we're what right now we're hiking inland way more inland than we did on that trail held together and we came across an inland lake which is there's none on coastal so it's pretty cool it's got a really wild feel to it nothing is marked.
And there's only maybe one or two sets of boot prints in the mud ahead of us so this is july already and it doesn't look like too many people have liked it by the looks of the trail not too many people hike it in general.
Yes oh that's upside down i think it's about that time bug spray up forgiving my hands i got this shirt on but they're getting my hands on my face and my neck pretty good i like to put it on my hat itself too on the underside of the brim.
On the top let's try to keep them as far away as possible for as long as possible that goes back in the possible coach in the middle of the bush no water in sight that's wild yeah weird cool whatever another one of these things.
Most of these rocks are pretty good some move some move i'm glad i brought a hiking pole so sure is i like tasha's saying we're hugging lake superior right now and the breeze coming off of that thing is.
Heavenly it's like complete uh temperature change are we rock climbing or trail hiking 50 50. wow this is epic oh look at that you look majestic up there bud majestic af cooper.
Everything the light touches is mine rickety i'll try it first yeah yeah you if you yeah if it doesn't support me mountain ash uh i don't know if it'll come through in the camera but the water is as clear as day well we're coming up to our first.
Campsite here tasha's has taj has some experience with these what is this this is the bear box they provide at the park so unlatch it if you can get my fat fingers in here then you leave your stuff in here that you don't want like that free water bottle yeah.
It's nice yeah that's cool before you put your food now your camp is barefoot you could lay a barrel down in there you think maybe yeah small one small one that's not bad man yeah kind of cool no hanging your food yeah no thunderboxes out here boy oh.
Sitting on a log nope upgrade what's that what there's even a throne in there oh my we are no peasants here i was like okay no thunder buffs to poop in privacy look at this not too bad.
Did not expect this but you know what it's so accessible from boat off lake superior here and it makes sense oh man the campsite's the actual campsite it looks like it's got one of those fire pits with the grill and everything oh man we're getting is there a picnic.
Table too no just benches yeah and a flat spot for a tent yeah this is okay shadow of the lions christopher swann brian found his hair itching inching down so it almost fell over his eyes that's weird he said terence terence.
Hated dip terence terence hated dip hated the smell and thought it looked stupid what do you think josh should i be a should i be a narrator in my next career yeah look at this look at this.
All to yourself oh man this is pretty epic well i got the gear bomb as usual going on with some jalapeno turkey jerky just ate a taco trail mix just so this it's like a dog treat oh it's not jalapeno.
Lied to me i'm waiting for the jalapeno to kick in hey what i'm not expecting you to fall at all i just want to show off your great balance more graceful than your dog is get out of my way i'm coming through yep yes exactly.
Pretty epic wow dude this is something wow that's one of the nicest views i've ever seen yeah wow dude i feel like we're on the west coast.
Of canada right now it's awesome epic eh it's epic yeah that's the word for it for sure where the watermelons grow yeah but wow what have you holy cow pretty incredible.
So we were over here right yeah and then look at over there see there's like a little connector yeah yeah that's probably superior coming into this or vice versa yeah it could be this blowing out boy it might be an easier way down 100 easier over there perfect.
Let's take the joe away so the trail has been marked by these rock cairns right next to tosh there you can see one it's nicer than seeing blazes on the trees and or plugging tape just like that turn my camera on just in time there's a rope tosh is using they have.
Tied up here to a couple logs to help get over pretty intense man it's a pretty uh yeah it's a decent angle too i did it make it look easy wow yeah vertical wall here paul wall i don't know if you can hear it.
But there's like substantial amount of water flowing underneath our feet right here it's loud as the day is long here we're high up like we've been climbing yeah we're coming up from that lake with a little 235 or whatever it is and this is just.
Constant flowing water under here that's too cool made it up to a nice look out here we're still looking for our campsite we never uh never end up finding that that other campsite but it was a water access campsite so we could have just missed it no big deal i think we're going to be.
Pretty close to our camp for the night pretty soon anyways yeah i think it's down the bottom of this big hill this ravine look at this thing anyway beauty freaking beautybod all right i'll fall down first that's what i'm waiting for.
Don't disappoint that rock is moving all over the place which one yeah i think it's just like a top plate it's just the part you're standing don't worry about it and that tree was super solid too strongest oh.
The knees are feeling that one how far down you think that is 20 feet vertically 20 feet right you still got another i don't know if i've said it before on camera but very very very happy to have this hiking pole look at the color those rocks underneath.
How clear that water is those rocks are like huge huge six seven base basketball size that's a weird way to measure things pallet of cake and just like that back into the bush.
This is pretty wild up here we're up high it's a lot of scrubby trees nothing too substantial there's some spruce over there but look at all this scrubby and deserty looking look at this one old cedar that's twisted and twisted and twisted gnarly you could never split that if you.
Like depending on it not straight anyways check this out we're just coming by a big rock this is a root looks like a spruce but like it's enormous bigger than some trees the roots coming down and hugging the.
Rock going into the ground a couple other ones they're not as big this place is so rugged it's got a really really like remote wilderness feel to it which is nice this is the first real trip i've been on this year i've or at least this season done a few.
Overnights and done up like couple night things and whatever pretty tame stuff but this is uh this is pretty serious for me at least i'm having fun tomorrow and the next day are going to be very wet lots of rain.
At least that's what's in the forecast we think this might be our camp for tonight we're not 100 sure but we're hoping nice sandy beach butterfly this is us so we are home for today.
So this is our campsite tasha's walking in check out our view this is like out of the movie the beach like this is unreal you think you're in the caribbean seriously what's going on here i'm tired yeah me too we got this wicked.
Awesome beach back behind us okay cool some good real estate just set up a tent golden you good oh it feels nice to take that pack off no doubt i'm gonna take my shoes off and my socks and step in that water because my.
Feet are oh he whacked himself on that log super hard doesn't seem to care doesn't seem to fail teeter-totter can i just take my shoes off how old are we.
Well i got my i have daughters you know that's the reason if anybody's wondering that's the reason because i have daughters and i don't say no to them when i probably should what's up holy crap what can't be that bad.
Come on joe it's fine it's like an ice bath it's this is wim hof right here he's getting down now you can't see my pretty clothes oh that's wild i'm not gonna film it it feels good on my feet but it actually like really hurts it hurts yeah there's no getting around it.
Look at our campsite did i tell you this is our campsite oh my goodness i've come in away from the camp a little bit to find a nice flat spot try to get a good pitch on this tent i've already staked it down so let us see.
Oh yeah i keep forgetting at a pitch gotta pull this out i do indeed pull the back out some now the z-packs so i've got a nice really nice taut pitch on this now um there's a bunch of these extra tie outs that it is stormy.
Or something you can you can tie out but they're not necessary i got the foreign around one in the back one in the front and the pole up nice nice amount of room inside too we'll go in and check it out but.
I'm gonna get in here and set my stuff up i might even take a little snooze full of pine resin and debris no leaflet no debris that's enough of my feet i guess but.
Yeah looks nice there's a bathtub flooring it you can uh holy crap you can braise it up like this cinch it down uh over there too here because it because it's just like floating basically right so.
If it really rains you can cinch it up but it's always inside of that oh there's some freaking flies in here already look at this guy from here get from here i'm just checking out the map listen to this.
This section of lake superior's the coastline provides three excellent adventures a great long distance backpacking route or route if you will the 60 kilometer coastal six kilometer long coastal hiking trail a weekend getaway the 24 kilometer loop called midabi mikna.
And an epic long distance paddling journey the coastal paddling road our guide covers them all and while we'll tell you some stories about interesting characters from more active past today you'll only encounter some relics they left behind in this remote coast of the largest freshwater lake on the planet this is your great chance to get out.
There test yourself against the forces of nature travel through a beautiful wilderness and feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment upon clea upon completing your adventure we hope to you enjoy your stay learn a little special place and return again that's cool i like that part there where it says.
This is your great chance to get out there test yourself blah blah blah blah one of the largest freshwater lakes or the largest freshwater lake on the planet that's wild as well anyway super cool spot getting the boat right in here was even more epic i've never done that before take a boat in somewhere uh and then trip out so that was cool too.
Yeah really cool spot i would recommend it highly recommend coming up here lake superior is 82 000 kilometers square an area the size of austria 560 kilometers long 259 kilometers wide maximum depth of 405 meters that's wild and it's so harsh in the winter time the cool says indeed the cool year-round climate is so harsh that.
Some species of plant commonly found the arctic climates or climates or maybe supposed to say climbs and the arctic climates grow here that's wild it's all wild so wild we're gonna have to hike on a suspension bridge too at one point on this trail which is super cool.
Well it's been a while since i talked to you last took a nap ate supper it's uh i think it's like eight o'clock 8 15. so uh we're just chilling out man tosh is down there.
Our camp's there i came around this little bit of a bend there's this extra beach bonus beach i'm just gonna grab a bunch of driftwood and head back to our fire flowers galore over here look at this look at these things but bam take a right at the.
This is back here right yeah pretty far away it looks dry inside i don't see any holes in it perfect get it now beauty night look at this man.
So very nice good morning it's roughly 7 30. it's time to get up and get at them uh it didn't rain i don't think it didn't rain last night nice didn't rain possibly rain today but.
Nice flat lay good sleep time to get up this tent has a weird opening here two uh snaps on from these latches hold uh i'm sorry hold it together.
That's all she wrote for this camp oh wolf down some oatmeal and we're going to get on the on on the water we're going on the trail before the rain starts if it does but tons of mosquitoes out right now feeling pretty good the only thing i am feeling but i think.
I'm feeling most is my shoulders my collarbone right here this backpack is great it feels awesome i love it but the straps are on the thin side and my collarbone i'm so skinny my collarbones poke out so it kind of abrades on there but other than that feeling like a champ.
We're gonna get going here good campsite pretty indeed it is oh wow yeah hopefully that blows past us yeah that's the ticket it looks funny over here all right coupe okay come on well rain's here.
Got to put the jacket on and the rain cover over my bag oh that matches that this thing yeah we got a camp just in time okay smoke i don't understand how this works but something like that.
There's devastation here with the must have been a wind storm everything's pushed the same way this uh this part of the trail is a lot more flat and actually on ground than before when it was rocky and up and down and stuff so we're making pretty decent time.
we got thunder i just stopped to poop i put my rain pants on natasha's in order to be found gonna go find that whoa go find that guy it's really really raining now this is going to be an all-day rain you can just tell.
So on we walk to find daniel tosh we're finally coming out of the forest for the first time after a good stint and we got a misty morning.
These rocks are freaking slippery so so looking wild bye
